Please share your apricot jam recipe! These smelled currant bun-like while baking but were pretty flavorless.. perhaps due to 12 year old jar of dry ginger, idk.. maybe because I had raisins not currants and no candied peel. Hey ho! I enjoyed the process.
They are so cute! This is the recipe:
You cut them in half horizontally.
You toast them on one side first: bottoms up.
Put butter on the other side toast them for 1 min only.
Then: you get your tin of apricots. Get a few on each one. Sprinkle them with brown sugar and cinnamon. And then get them under the grill until the sugar bubbles.
In recent years I have added a 1/2 Cadbury crème egg, in the final stage.
I am deviating from the tradition this year and going to make a limoncello tiramisu and I’m going to make whipped cream nests on top of it and put mini eggs in them. This is looking so cute in my minds eye. But I am sure it will be a tragic shambles. I have purchased a piping bag and everything!
