I get shit from people at work for wearing a pride mask with a power fist on it from time to time, weird looks, snickers, pointing and laughing, but once in a while I'll get meek little "I like your mask :)" comments from people passing by, nods and waves from others, I saw a kid with the nonbinary flag painted on their shoes shopping with their dad, a trans woman completely relaxed when she saw me, and two girls walked around holding hands, carefree. That I think. That is worth it. To let others know that they are safe.

not to be a hedonist but. pleasure IS the whole point, my loves. we are made for pleasure. humans have not survived out of spite or sheer grit or simply to make more humans. we live for pleasure. the pleasure of licking the last delicious crumbs off your fingers and feeling sunlight on your skin and massaging a loved one's shoulders. we're made to fill our bellies with delicious food, to nap in soft grass, to touch each other in joy and comfort.

there is no shame or guilt in our bodies doing what they were made to do. and we are made for pleasure.

Heres the thing you gotta understand about statistics. 

“Increases your chances by 80%” does not mean “there is now an 80% chance”. 

If your chances were previously 10%, your chances are now 18%, not 90%. 

if your chances were roughly 1%, they’re now just slightly less than 2%. 

thats how that works.

I was recently introduced to the concept of being a “receptive bilingual”, or “passive speaker”. Essentially, its a speaker of a language who has had enough exposure to have an advanced comprehension of it (reading/listening) but little to no active command of it (writing/speaking). I think its so fascinating! I wonder how many of us are receptive bilinguals?

Here’s the thing.

Sometimes you fuck up and make mistakes in friendships or any type of relationship. Sometimes, the other person can’t or won’t forgive you. And that’s their right. They’ve been hurt and have a right to decide that.

But this doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to forgive yourself. You are allowed to forgive yourself and try to move on from it. You’re allowed to let it go and aim to do better.

It’s okay to try and forgive yourself and progress beyond your mistakes. This is partly how we grow and do better.
