My best friend's boyfriend is something else. He's buying a dog (a shiba inu, specifically. We had no idea why he was so intent upon getting a shibu inu only until a few days ago). She already has a dog, so he's asking her for advice. A few days ago she was telling him about ticks and fleas and this was the conversation they had:
My bsf: Be careful about ticks and fleas.
Her bf: Ticks and fleas?
My bsf: Yeah, they might attack.
Him: Won't he fight back?
My bsf: ...what?
Him: I'm gonna teach him to fight. Like Bruce Lee.
My bsf: ...
Him: He's a japanese dog. Can't he be like Bruce Lee??
My bsf: ...
After she convinced him that Bruce Lee was not in fact Japanese, he was pretty disappointed, but he dropped the subject.
Later we realised that he thought ticks and fleas were other breeds of dogs. That attacked shiba inus. Specifically.
Today they had this conversation:
Him: How do I make my Shiba Inu have abs?
Her : ...what????
Him: Can I make him lift weights?
Her: ...
Her: NO
Him: THEN HOW WILL HE GET ABS??
Her: ...do you mean like. You want him to be fit?
Him: (disappointed) Yeah that works
Her: Walking him. Plenty of exercise. Good diet.
Him: So can I feed him protein powder?
Her: WHY WOULD U EVEN ASK THAT
Him: YOU SAID HE NEEDED A HEALTHY DIET
And now they're fighting because he wants to give his dog protein powder. And she will not let him.
