chelsea couldn't remember the last time they actually sat down in a restaurant for dinner. most nights were take-out or doordash or uncrustables still frozen solid, eaten standing at the kitchen counter while scrolling on their phone.

in some ways, they were thankful for night out, to be among a bustling crowd with company rather than sitting alone in their apartment, drawing again. of course, that didn't stop them from rambling on and on about a large piece they did at work, a jellyfish that took them a near week to nail down properly for the client. there was still color to be done, but he was endlessly proud of his linework, going so far as to pull up a picture of it on his phone to show his companion. they snorted at his reply, thoroughly tickled at his reply. in all honest, they were aware they were rambling, so they'd take the easy way out of the cycle of infodumping about it. "yeah, they are cool," they replied, nodding along to the adjacent topic. "when i was a kid, i'd just stare at the moon jellies at the aquarium. i really ought to draw a few to put on my flash sheet. but enough about jellyfish - how was your day? or week? or last hour and a half before this very second?"

         it had been ages since florian had eaten out. he wasn't the biggest fan of crowded restaurants; or restaurants in general, really. the idea of a stranger touching his food before it coming out to him was only slightly off-putting to the young male.

yet, here he'd found himself sitting in the middle of a crowded, way too humid, but nice smelling thai restaurant.

all in all, not the worst, he loved thai food and he had great company for the evening. if only for the people the next table over, who were talking so loud he could barely understand what his conversational partner was trying to say. "uh- yeah, i love jellyfish, too- totally! they're pretty... interesting..."

- they have thrown around many names during their journey with their gender - they just keep going back to chels because it's easy & feels safe. they have seriously considered the name mateo though. - they are always willing to do things, regardless if it's a good idea or not. the number of stick 'n' poke tattoos they have given themself is proof of this. - they were diagnosed with adhd when they were about ten, spacing off in the middle of class rather than paying attention. as an adult, they're dragging their feet to address the elephant in the room - the sudden and abrupt unmasking that is making them realize that maybe things are a little more serious than some issues focusing. - they have a rescue dog named georgina ; they're pretty sure she's a german shepherd-chow mix, but they were also pretty sure she was a george when they first named her. either way, she's their emotional support, and a lot of their spare money gets funneled into her.
