i am a trans guy but I don't reclaim masculinity in completeness because it's mostly rooted in eurocentrism. black queer masculinity and femininity simultaneously on the other hand is absolutely beautiful and I've been looking at a lot more examples of it, especially with ballroom culture and black gender non conforming queer culture

It is beautiful to be a part of this and put that in my art and myself. i do have to acknowledge that I'm doing the "black person unknowingly is pioneering a new perspective of queers" but like, I rather stay authentic to myself.

i include trans women and transfem characters a lot in my art not for inclusivity reasons cuz it feels disingenuous. i do it because I just want to and because within my life, out of all the shit I went through, trans women were genuinely the only people out there who have showed me kindness unconditionally without trying to actively smear me or curse me. infact a lot of them felt bad and tried to make sure I was ok and have told me they missed my art when I went offline.

they don't invalidate my gender expression, in fact they encourage me a lot and surround me with love. they are also EXTREMELY understanding of my struggles, even if they aren't black cuz they understand what it's like being treated as the bottom of society.

it's not inclusivity it's just pure love. affectionate, platonic, and romantic all at once.
