The subtitles don’t portray it, but he stumbles over the R sound. He was attempting to say River but got to choked up. He can’t even say it which is what makes it so powerful.

He speaks of forgiveness and injustice towards both animals and people while recognizing he is flawed.

I think it’s something we should aspire to be. This doesn’t mean an end to holding people accountable for their actions. Nor does it mean you have to immediately convert to some sort of pacifistic unopinionated veganism. But as the lyric says “run to the rescue with love and peace will follow”
