Solas sharing Lore - Part 1

This post is focused on what Solas says about the lore of the world of DA series. It’s not about Solas as a character [although I would try to explore his nature as a way to understand the nature of the Elvhen and the spirits]. Since Solas is one of the living elvhen who knows the truth of what happened with the Evanuris and the Tevinter expansion after the fall of Arlathan, I consider his words one of the most valuable ones in the series. He does not lie, but omits what he doesn’t want to speak about or adds technicalities that make his statements true yet misleading if we don’t pay attention to the context. Unlike Flemeth, he speaks with less riddles, so I considered worth listing all the knowledge he shared with the Inquisitor in order to have a reliable information of how “the world” of Thedas truly works.

4 almost 5 years wow. I’m really glad I didn’t post chapter to chapter cuz what I had doesn’t feel right at all. The story I started IS NOT at all what I have now!

New beginning, New romance, NEW EVERYTHING ..... I Commissioned art that doesn’t even work now. LUL as much as I love the ship its just NOT working for the story and it changed completely. 

 Writing is crazy but I love it. Still going, one day I’ll get it finished and posted. One day. <3 

So it truly begins

Gutted the first chapter cuz it didnt flow right. Oh man this is crazy, but also fun?

Time to write this thing 17 different ways till I find one that flows properly

I finally got the dai mod to make the companions talk like every minute when your out and about, and I’m noticing sooo much more Solas foreshadowing like—

Solas, in the Emerald Graves: The Emerald Graves have changed soooo much since I was here last :)

Blackwall, 5 minutes later: Last time I was in the Emerald Graves was 10 years ago and it looks Exactly the Same

And then there’s me realizing this was probably definitely purposeful by the writers like:

Ok, one more thing I want to add to the whole Solas/Inquisitor narrative parallels topic, because there’s so much to it and I just keep remembering stuff, is how the post credits scene with Flemeth also mirrors the last scene with Solas in Trespasser, in which the Inquisitor basically takes Solas’ place. One of the few examples that are actually kind of confirmed by BioWare, as Patrick Weekes hinted at this in an old interview from 2016 (at around 19:18).

Again on the cover art parallel though, I think it’s funny how some people in the comments were like “Dude stole our move!”, when.. I mean, technically, it wasn’t even really “our move” to begin with, since Dude was actually the first one to show us how it’s done. lol

Also, I’ve mentioned this before, but the fact that this orchestral piece that’s playing in the cinematic while the last visual is shown, is so reminiscent of DAI’s main theme, yet another layer to emphasize all this.. Love it! <3

So.. I know we’re all drooling over Absolution right now, because ohh was that delicious!! But. Guys. Literally all week long I kept thinking about what this reminded me of…..

Like.. I could’ve sworn I’ve seen this before…….
