WELCOME!
Hi folks. This is an example of how to fulfill the Online Reading Journal component of FSTV 3230. You should *not* sign up for any blogging service that requires any kind of payment--there are many free options out there. Tumblr is one option, but there are MANY others to choose from (see the assignment description on Brightspace, or do a quick Google search for 'free blogging sites'). In general, I expect the Reading Journal to be a relatively informal way of recording your reactions/responses to the course modules. A few things to keep in mind as you write your reflection:
Focus on at least 1-2 of the readings assigned for the module, and briefly summarize what you take to be their main points or arguments. Do you find their arguments convincing? Why or why not?
What lingering questions do you have about the module's themes or major concepts? What future research questions might need to be explored?
How does your own personal experience with social media illuminate, or complicate, the major themes, concerns, and arguments presented in the module's readings/lectures?
What other examples of social media phenomena not discussed in readings or lecture come to mind?
Your reading reflections do not necessarily need to address all these points, nor are you constrained to these questions. Feel free to be creative and to incorporate visuals (videos, memes, screenshots, etc.).
Good luck and happy blogging!
