For just $25.00 This Mexican Clay Aroma Therapy Bead Necklace was popular in the 1970's and 1980's and is making a comeback today! Handmade clay beads, ranging in color from light Terra Cotta to Bone White, are strung on fishing line measuring 23" (58.42 mm). The round centerpiece medallion design is based on the Sun Motif Petroglyphs of the American Southwest and measures 3/4" (1.905 mm). The large round beads measure approximately 3/4" (1.27 mm) with linear striations around each bead and 1 or 2 lateral lines of tiny holes between the striations on 3 of the beads. These tiny holes are for Aroma Therapy oils and it does not appear that it was ever used for this purpose as there is no aroma and no discoloration of the beads in those areas. Small barrel beads with linear or circular striations measure approximately 1/8" (.3175 mm). These small beads separate each of the larger beads and finish out the length of the necklace. This is a beautiful example of handmade Naturalist Artwork from the period and is in excellent condition. For just $25.00 Vintage Mexican Handcrafted Terra Cotta Clay Bead Necklaces were popular in the 1980's. The round, hand striated beads are graduated from the large center bead (approx. 1/2" or 1.27 MM) down to the smallest on either side (approx. 1/4" or 0.635 mm). Small barrel beads with circular, diagonal and straight striations separate the round beads then finish filling the neck chain. The entire necklace is strung on fishing line with no clasp and measures 23 1/4" (59.055 mm) overall length. Several of the round beads have 1-3 lateral lines of tiny holes between the striations for use with aromatherapy oils. Though aged, there is no discoloration or smell to suggest this necklace has ever been used for that purpose. This necklace is in excellent condition.
