the theme was space and celestial objects, so I decided to illustrate my favourite richard siken quote in form of a short comic!

coloring tips courtesy of art school
🎨 when coloring skin, adding warm colors to the shadows tends to breathe more life into the figure - fuchsia and deep reds are both particular favorites
🎨 with predominantly warm-colored compositions, cool colors REALLY stand out, sometimes in a jarring way! shades of gray can look like or give the impression of blue when put next to warmer, more saturated colors
🎨 if you can’t decide between different sets of colors, think about what you want your piece to MEAN - different colors have many many different associations! what general idea do you want to convey?
🎨 when adding a contrast color into a composition, try putting it in MORE THAN ONE PLACE - helps with harmony and cohesion
🎨 soft and hard brushes are great to use in combination - there are different types of shadows
🎨 LIGHT BOUNCES
🎨 chromatic fringe is a good friend
🎨 COOL COLORS do not always have to be DARK COLORS
🎨 complementary colors are NEATO. but also they don’t have to both be the SAME LEVEL OF SATURATION, SHADE, AND VALUE. try:
—>seafoam green with pink!
—>or creamy yellow and magenta!
—>or terra cotta and turquoise!
🎨 sometimes you’ll accidentally click the paint bucket in a weird location and end up with a really cool effect. post it.
all stuff that helps me - totally feel free to add stuff

How to draw baggy hoodies pls
@axelcat Okay, I’m bad at this, but baggy hoddies are literally just rounded poofy triangles:
And if you can do this, you’re golden. Here are some more some examples.
see, it’s all just triangles. Sorry this took so long!!
And another note: be mindful of your folds! Place them in areas that make sense
