Hi! This is my final animation at NYSSSA! This program was SO transforming for me and I actually feel like I know where I want to go with my art. I’ve also met so many lovely people that I hope to stay in touch with. Sound was mostly done by the two wonderful sound design teachers of the program!

is this day going to remembered as 6/12? the day a homophobe killed people for loving? the day parents lost their children from something they couldn’t change? the day america broke its record with mass shootings for a horrible reason? the day media pretended it wasn’t an act of blatant homophobia?

What infuriates me about the Orlando shooting is the media’s blatant removal of the word “gay” from their headlines on this tragedy. It was a GAY NIGHTCLUB. Don’t you fucking dare forget that. Don’t erase the identities of victims of the worst mass shooting in American history because you don’t think it’s pertinent to your story. This was a hate crime directed solely at the LGBTQIA community for daring to exist in the year 2016.

a little teeny thing I've been working on! (is a lil tree) Also, update! In two weeks I'm leaving for the nysssa media arts program! I'm gonna try to share whatever I work on in the class on here, I really hope I improve and learn a lot, I'm so excited!

Police Destroy LEGALLY Painted Mural of Mike Brown, Because It ‘Sent the Wrong Message’

The mural was created by artists in Trenton, New Jersey on the gate to a vacant storefront.

Permission of the proper authorities was even obtained before the mural was created, just to make sure that there was no reason for it to be destroyed later by police.

But that didn’t seem to thwart officers who decided to get involved, even though no laws had been broken by the artists who created the mural.

The illegal destruction of this legal artwork by police suppressing freedom of speech!

No matter how “nice” a cop may be, or how much he’s trying to make law enforcement better, they still work for the most evil people on the planet. People who want to keep you broke, struggling, and powerless.

The police instigate violence and crime by keeping the middle and lower class struggling, because they protect the people doing the oppressing! All cops are traitors to Americans!

I started the 5 day drawing challenge by Von Glitschka on Lynda.com! Day one’s challenge was drawing distorted human proportions. This was really rushed, but here’s my turtleneck-wearing long-necked person.

EDIT: I just watched the solution video lol, I promise I didn't mean to copy the result. Idk where my idea came from and I probably subconciously copied the preview given in the introduction but oh well

I’ve been thinking about Sadie from SU a lot! This is also pretty much my first successful full-body sketch. I hope using the pen tool for lineart isn’t considered cheating.

Here are two basic sculpts I worked on today for some new-ish characters. I plan on retopologizing them, but my goal is to turn these guys into rigged and UV-mapped models. I don’t know if this goal is reachable but I’ll definitely try!
