re-reading my own fic because the author has exactly my taste in tropes, ships the same ships in the right way, and also shares my sense of humour. what a find, what a revelation. i hope they write more of this sort of thing.

My favourite trope has to be:

I sacrificed myself to save you. I didn't plan to survive. I burnt all the bridges. I intended to break your heart with my death, but that would be all right, because I wouldn't be around to see you. I pretended that you'll mourn me for a while and move on. I convinced myself I was going down in the blaze of glory. That my deed was appreciated. That everything was going to be all right afterwards, and I didn't need to be there to see it.

But I survived. And now I have to look you in the eye. I have to pick up the pieces of the life I shattered and figure out how to put it back together. If it can be done at all.

everyday i think about the fact that pete didnt come home before curfew and the implications that holds for ted. how soon do you think ted concluded pete was dead. how long do you think he mourned his baby brother before pete came home, alive, but so fucking traumatised. i am so fucking ill about these dumb ass brothers.

I get my media recommendations the old fashioned way: by watching someone I follow on here go on an unhinged reblog spree of media related content until I eventually decide to go "alright, what's all this then"

I should note, I hate the soulmates "we would fall in love in every universe" trope for the aforementioned "where's the tension and interest and really anything worthwhile" reasons. However, "we would find each other in every universe" fucking rips. We would interact meaningfully in every universe but sometimes we are lovers and sometimes we are friends and sometimes we are bitter enemies and sometimes we'd simply both be in the same HOA.

Pete’s swagless looks have captivated someone, Ted’s have not

Still screaming, crying, etc. over the ramifications and implications of Steph pulling the trigger. Over the fact that Steph has to live the rest of her life with the knowledge that she aimed that gun at Pete's head and pulled the trigger. And that she has to live with the knowledge that she didn't have to lose him to get rid of Max, but she almost did anyway because she pulled the trigger. Never mind the fact it took Pete begging her for her to do so. "Please, Steph, just do it." (Not because he wanted to die, but because he wanted her to live.)
