I finally finished my my cushion
I cut up some fabric and I spray painted onto it, unfortunately with the yellow spray paint it didn’t quite spray properly so I ended up with splodges instead of a clean spray
I then overlooked the edges of the fabric and hemmed them
After that I seamed the fabric together and I pulled it open and the pictures above were my results
I’m gutted that I didn’t get to finish my hand embroidery however the cushion looks exiting, it’s full of life and colour and the hand embroidery builds up tone

I managed to overlock the edges of my final cushion however I had a few technical problems
The first problem was that the overlock machine didn’t catch onto my work meaning that the machining was left hanging
So I decided to re-overlock the edges and it looks better than it did

Development of my final cushion
I’ve carried on with the hand embroidery and I’ve started to experiment with different colours for effect
I’m liking how this is going, I can’t wait to finish it!

I realised that I needed to change one of my seams so I undone my stitching and created a new seam and that made everything look more straight. I ended up with a right angle and I think it looks really cool
I then started to do hand embroidery however I was only able to do the little section

This is the front of my final cushion
I thought merging my samples together would be cool, I done this by seaming them together, there was a problem with the final seam i sewn, it hadn’t sewn all the way Which was annoying
I then decided to machine stitch the bigger triangles for effect and so far it’s going well
After the machine stitching I’ll be doing hand embroidery to some of the little triangles

Further development of my third sample
I’ve started to sew into the loose triangles to create my collage so far it’s going ok, I find that the stitches show a bit which is disappointing for me

Development of my third sample
I looked back at all of my other samples that are yet to be developed, I decided to cut away my weakest areas and I neatened them up, instead of wasting lots of fabric I decided to attempt collage and this is my first stage of the development

Another finished sample, I’m very happy with the outcome
I feel like couching make the triangles stand out more as two coloured threads are being used it also makes the sample look delicate
I will still continue to use different types of hand embroidery and the one I like best will go on my final cushion which will be produced next week

Development of my second sample
I decided to couch this time, I used a bright, vibrant orange and a light yellow threads to make the triangles stand out
So far I’m liking this sample, I found couching a lot nicer than back stitch

First sample complete, I like how this turned out, the use of hand embroidery gives the sample more colour and life and the Machine embroidery makes the bigger triangles look more sharp
I think next time I’ll use different Types of hand embroidery to give all the samples a different feel

I finished my spray painting, I cut them into size and I ended up with some cool samples, however I felt that the samples could do with some development so i decided to do some machine and hand embroidery, I started by ironing the samples and then I machining the bigger triangles to make them stand out and then I started to do hand embroidery to make the little triangles stand out. I decided to use bright yellow thread as i knew it would add colour to my particular sample (I found that the red spray painting was overpowering) and so far it looks good

I started to spray paint into fabric, I thought spray painting onto one large piece of fabric would be nicer as I can cut out my best bits, I started by using the simple stencil to create a simple first layer, I used a purple colour first and then I used a yellow to build up colour. I’m yet to finish this sample

I finished my stencil, I then considered layering techniques so I made another stencil this time making the triangles a lot bigger
