i know that "unalive" is part of larger worrying trend of self censorship but if you really are in a situtation where you have to avoid the words "die" or "kill" the english language already has centuries worth of much better euphemisms. the iconic and perennial "six feet under"? the lovely imagery of "pushing up daisies"? "shuffle off this mortal coil"????? literally anything from the monty python dead parrot bit???? you have so many options. please try to be more creative at least
hozier - it will come back / the monkey man (2024) / the stooges - i wanna be your dog / valeria tentoni - yo me saco esto que traigo (tr. james a. surges) / phoebe bridgers - moon song / @tapeworrmart / natalie wee - least of all / sir edwin henry landseer - the faithful hound / andrew kane - how to be a dog / @thegirlhoodtheory
"You're not gonna firebomb a walmart" bro what does this even mean. I'm not going to do that, you're right. But I'm also not going to vote for a man that called me and my loved ones terrorists and funded 7+ months of genocide??? It's not even an argument that makes sense for the situation. Being asked to consider your culpability in voting for a man like that and then you respond with "what else am I supposed to do?" Idk man! But you can't exactly claim the moral highground when you make fun of people for not.... firebombing a walmart????
Changing my belief system from "this is the hill I'll die on" to "this is the hill I'll kill you on" has done absolute wonders for me 10/10 do recommend
Before Israel killed him, Palestinian scholar Refaat Al Areer wrote to his daughter:
If I must die
you must live
to tell my story
Yesterday Israel killed his daughter Al-Shaymaa along with her husband and baby.
Who is going to tell Refaat and Shayma's story? Who's going to continue to tell the world how Israel obliterated entire bloodlines?
Refaat's poem continues to say
If I must die
let it bring hope
let it be a tale
We must promise to keep the tale alive and to uphold the legacy of Refaat, Shayma and the 40,000 others who were murdered by Israel in its ongoing genocide.
