WIP Wednesday!

Thank you so much for the tag @orangesunsets12! So glad to see you're back, and with Peter Parker angst no less lol. You are going to make me cry, I just know it.

I haven't had time to do any of my own fandom writing as college has been sucking the soul out of my body, but here is a WIP from this novella project I am working on with totally original characters that aren't at all inspired by anyone nope.

Victoria McMillan thought that the hardest part of saying goodbye would be just that: saying goodbye. Bidding farewell to the neighbors and friends she had known her whole life. Taking one last look at their long faces, knowing that would likely be the last time she ever saw them. 

She figured it couldn’t get any harder after she spent all day saying goodbye to her entire village. 

And then, her brother began to cry. 

Edmund McMillan, who was always able to crack a joke when things became too serious, who was fiercely protective of his older sister despite being five years younger than her, was crying like a young child. 

That is what broke her. That is what nearly made Victoria back out of her decision.  

But she knew she couldn’t. There was too much at stake, too many people depending on her.  

“Edmund, stop crying. You’re a young man,” Victoria began to scold. Her voice was firm, until she saw the sheer weight and pain in his dark brown eyes, and her stern demeanor melted away. “Oh, come here.”
