connection with nature
i have been thinking about how i can show the connection between humans and plants by picking a theme which tells the story of our mutual experiences. birth, life and death. the everlasting cycle
i want to create a triptych piece to enter into the competition because i want to suggest a religious aspect, as i am focusing on the god complex and how humans often view themselves as superior to other life forms. triptych paintings were used for Christian art throughout the middle ages and perhaps hint towards the 3 symbols father son and holy spirit. or can tell a story in beginning middle and end.
i am also thinking of making these pieces on fabric as i love tapestries and they also hint at religious storytelling.

Getting started
To begin the project I began looking more deeply into the research I did during negotiated study about masks and their uses in different cultures
I collected images which inspired me visually and information about the origin of the masks and how they are used to tell stories throughout generations of tribes
