The most important thing about having a popular OC is to be their biggest fan yourself! Be as self indulgent as possible. What do YOU love in a character? What makes you happy? Make that and post about them obsessively and your love for the character can infect others lol
Got jumpscared by the notification for this ask while I was playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
I didn’t expect to get an ask…much less advice.
I’ll try, but the problem is that I have some of the WORST self-esteem in existence. I think my goal when posting about my OCs is to either
1. Write stuff in a way good enough for people to notice it.
2. Lovingly bully them enough for people to join in
Or
3. Just draw random art of them in hopes people actually SEE it. They usually don’t.
Also…”What makes me happy?” I don’t know…both in the answer to that and also to what you mean. I’m only assuming that it means “make stuff for your OCs that make you happy”, in which I don’t know, but the sentence after suggests “make an OC off of what makes you happy” in which I already do the latter. Where do you think I got the base idea for Krino lmao (the answer is “VOCALOID song”). Either way I don’t think it’s working (JUST LOOK AT THE NOTE COUNT FOR MOST OF MY OC POSTS).
Sorry if I seem deflective here. I do that a LOT at random moments. Also sorry this got so long lmao.

God, I wish I could draw butterfly/moth wings…
I suck at drawing a lot of things (hence why the majority of my OCs look bland).
Yeah, I had an idea in my mind for an OC that involves wings like that.

Have been randomly deciding to see random posts from that…uhh…Kirby OC tourney or whatever that happened in, like— 2024 or something?
It just constantly makes me want to try to add (objectively my most interesting OC) Krino the NEXT year this is available.
This, of course, is because I wanna do stuff with my OCs outside of my own little bubble (barely popular blog or whatever) and there is little to no stuff like that right now.
I think this post should’ve made me realize that…I probably need more human conversation.

Also congrats. My main problem is that every time I try to finish the ONE knight OC I’m trying to make, the mask always ends up looking silly. Maybe I should make a different one too.

I just wanted to say. I got Sonic Forces a few days ago and—
GOD why can’t I draw anthropomorphic animals. If I could I would draw the frick out of my little creatures.
I wish I could learn how.
Fun fact about this! The first character I made in game was meant to be this OC I made in my mind as a child and never drew. This just goes to say that the game version does NOT look like how my mind thought it out to be when I was younger.
