The partners will always be the partners, though.

snip
Because I always post stuff way too late at night. Just a little snip of FBI/Shadow Ops Souyo.
It was raining, because of course it was, and Yosuke was Not A Happy Camper. He’d been out for the last two hours doing run-of-the-mill grunt work for the unit - things that had to be done, that couldn’t be just outsourced to admin, but really Could Have Been Done By Anyone Not A Computer, and Yosuke had drawn the short straw - and he was more than ready to be back.
Usually Souji would go with him, but a quarter of their department was out sick, and Souji was back at HQ to keep an eye on things, dispatch teams as needed. He was the closest thing they had to a lead, when Dojima wasn’t around - and Dojima was one of the ones out sick. He had enough time between reentering the building and walking into the unit suite to drip-dry enough that he was no longer trailing water (a ten-floor elevator ride will do it), but he was still damp and in a bad mood and it wasn’t until the door closed behind him and Souji’s head popped up over the computer he’d been working at that Yosuke’s shoulders finally eased slightly, letting go of some of the cold and tension they’d been holding onto, so tightly coiled. Souji gave him a double-take, then jumped up, a fretful expression on his face. “It’s raining? Since when?”
Yosuke raised an eyebrow. “Since all afternoon.”
Souji frowned, looking back at the window, then shook his head, looking sheepish. “Sorry, I guess I wasn’t paying attention. Sit down, Yosuke. You deserve a rest.”
If Yosuke knew Souji (and he did) it wasn’t just "not paying attention” - he’d probably had his nose buried in reports all afternoon, since half of then weren’t getting written with the unit being so short-handed, something that Yosuke couldn’t begrudge him. As the brunette sank into the nearest chair - having already hung his overcoat in the entry to finish drip-drying - Souji hopped up, heading for the kitchen.
Please god, coffee, was all Yosuke could think.
He closed his eyes for a moment, listening to the drone of the rain on the windows (Really, how hard did Souji have to be focused not to hear it? But he knew that was how his partner worked, so he wasn’t exactly surprised), and after a moment he heard the clunk of something being set on the desk in front of him, at the same time that a towel descended on his head.  A pair of steady hands touseled Yosuke’s hair dry, and when the brunette reached out to take the mug on the desk he found that it was hot ginger and honey tea, not coffee - sure, coffee might be nice, but the other would warm him better on a day like today. He couldn’t exactly look up with a towel on his head, but as soon as Souji moved it Yosuke tilted his head back, giving his partner what was probably his first smile that afternoon. Souji returned it, dropping a light kiss on Yosuke’s lips; the brunette looked around quickly, but Souji shook his head.
“Yukiko and Kanji are out sick, as is Dojima, which puts Chie and Naoto out investigating that robbery in Shinagawa. Naoto just sent word that they’re stopping for dinner, and I told her they could work on their reports at home and email them in, since there’s nothing that can be done about it until samples come back from the lab. Rise’s with Unit 3, handling that stalker case. She’ll probably be staying overnight out in Chiba.”
Yosuke exhaled, nodding; that meant he and Souji would be alone in the office for the next few hours, until Sanoda and Kirijo, the night team, came in. He could handle that. When Souji took a seat next to him, Yosuke put his mug down, leaning against his partner’s arm. Souji grabbed a blanket from the back of the chair to his other side - Naoto had a pile of blankets, always complaining that she was cold - and wrapped it around them both, pushing his chair closer so that they could lean in together.
“I know it’s going to be after hours when we finally get to go home, but let’s stop at that 24h ramen joint on the corner, by the apartment. I don’t want to cook.”
Yosuke nodded, yawning. “And something warm would be amazing in this weather.” Of course, Souji’s arm was also warm, as was the blanket…
Yeah. Maybe rainy days weren’t so bad after all.

souyowrimo 2018 day 3
From the prompts here. Read my other souyowrimo 2018 posts here.
3. Morning
Saturday mornings were Yosuke’s favourite time of the week.
Weekdays were routine. Souji had never quite gotten over his morning sleepiness, but he’d trained himself to react whenever he heard the alarm - the only way to function in a workplace culture that required you to be at work early and on time. He’d stumble out of bed and into the bathroom, and Yosuke would have coffee waiting for both of them by the time Souji was out, dressed in his suit. He’d nurse his caffeine (and some miso soup, no rice during the week) while Yosuke got showered and dressed, and he’d be awake by the time they were on the train together, since they went the same way for the most part. Sundays were days off, of course, but they needed to get up early; groceries needed buying, chores needed doing, errands needed running.
But not Saturdays. Saturdays were theirs. No alarm, no rush, no plans unless they absolutely had to.
Yosuke always woke up before Souji - like clockwork, something he knew his mother would have loved to see, all those years ago - but even that was a joy, because it meant he got to see Souji at what was probably his most relaxed, even now. He got to snuggle up under the covers, under a lullaby of purrs (Vasha and Jirry, it seemed, enjoyed the sleep-in as much as Souji), got to tighten his arms around his husband, who almost always rewarded him with a muffled “mmm” as he buried his face against the brunette’s chest. And that was something to cherish, the fact that Souji, who still never relaxed as much as he should, found his refuge in Yosuke’s arms.
After an hour or so, Souji would finally lift his head and blink at Yosuke, a languid smile just touching his lips, and Yosuke would smile back at him, and lean in for a kiss. Maybe they’d doze a bit longer, maybe they’d snuggle, maybe they’d talk about the day. Maybe Souji would be feeling a little more awake than usual, maybe they’d indulge themselves.
Saturday mornings were the best, and Yosuke wouldn’t trade them for the world.

souyowrimo 2018 day 2
From the prompts here. Read my other souyowrimo 2018 posts here.
2. Glasses
Yosuke loved Souji’s glasses. He wouldn’t admit it, of course - things were still relatively New between them, and of course he was going to try to play it cool for as long as he was able to - but it did mean that every time they stepped into the TV world he side-eyed his partner, admiring just how handsome and sophisticated it made Souji look. He hated his own glasses, of course - he felt like they made  him look gangly and nerdy, and kind of uncool, but Souji? Souji just looked stylish.
One afternoon, they were heading home from school when more of the unpredictable rain that had been plaguing Inaba that year hit; it was more of a deluge than a storm, and both boys were drenched by the time they got inside the Dojimas’ house (it was closer than the Hanamuras’, and besides, they’d never complain about a chance to hang out and not do homework). As embarrassing as it was, Yosuke certainly didn’t want to catch cold, so he couldn’t say no when Souji declared that they both needed showers, nor could he exactly argue when Souji insisted he go first. When Yosuke just protested that he didn’t want Souji to get sick, either, Souji smiled, assuring the brunette that he’d get one immediately after, and meanwhile he’d make them both tea, which would keep him warm.
“Besides, I want to take care of my partner.”
It was the cheesiest and sweetest thing he’d said so far, and Yosuke went blushing into the shower, holding a spare, dry pair of sweatpants and a shirt from Souji’s dresser. When he came out, Souji was waiting in his room, wearing a dressing gown; he picked a cup of steaming tea off the table and carried it over to Yosuke, who accepted it gratefully, exchanging a smile with his boyfriend as Souji went off to get his own shower.
Sitting a little nervously on the couch, Yosuke found himself glad that Nanako was downstairs. It wasn’t often that he and Souji got to spend time alone together, what with school and the case, and as much as he liked being alone with Souji (and found himself daydreaming, more than once, about what could happen) he wasn’t really ready for too much of it. Not that Souji was anything but a gentleman, but-
As he was working himself up over the thought of not-gentleman Souji, the door opened and he started; Souji laughed as he stepped inside, drying his hair, and Yosuke exhaled, glad that Nanako hasn’t caught him daydreaming about her brother. He was so busy being relieved that it took him a moment to realise that Souji… was wearing glasses. And not his TV world glasses.
What???
He blinked hard, and as he did Souji walked over, dropping down to sit on the sofa beside him. Yosuke swallowed, finding his voice.
“I, uh…. didn’t realise you wore glasses. I’ve never seen them before.”
“Hmmm?” Souji turned to him, and Yosuke flushed. He thought about turning his head to hide it, but at this distance it wouldn’t matter, and would probably just make things worse. “I wear contacts, usually, because glasses always make me look so dorky, and-”
“Dorky? Are you kidding?” Yosuke’s head shot up, and he immediately blushed harder, realising that, well… the cool phase was over now because there was no way Souji wasn’t going to “get it”. And, in fact, Souji - after blinking again - did “get it”, slowly started to chuckle.
“Are you telling me you like them? Hmmm, maybe I’ll have to wear them more often.” Yosuke swallowed, nodding, and Souji grinned, leaning in.
It wasn’t their first kiss, by any means, but it was certainly one of the warmest ones yet, and Yosuke was almost glad when they heard footsteps on the stairs, followed by Nanako’s voice.
“Big bro? Dinner’s ready. Is Yosuke-nii staying? It’s still raining outside.”
They pulled apart at this, and even though Yosuke’s heart was hammering so much that he couldn’t form words, he managed to nod, and Souji answered to the affirmative. With a warm smile (and a flush of his own) Souji offered a hand to help Yosuke stand; before he let go, however, he pulled the brunette close, putting his mouth to his partner’s ear.
“It’s mutual, you know. Your TV world glasses make you look so sharp. I love seeing you in them.”
…Maybe Yosuke didn’t hate his glasses so much after all.

Souyowrimo 2018 day 1
I might try to put all of this on Ao3, but I’ll feel bad if I’m late, or I don’t finish. So here’s day one, and I’ll see what I can do with keeping up with the prompts. If you want to join in, please feel free!
(Of course, it’s fluffy.)
1.  A holiday
It was the worst Christmas Eve ever. Not that Souji’d had any Christmases of note, being 17, but this was the first time he’d actually tried making something of it - and it had all gone about as awful as it could have, short of losing a limb or burning down the house. Curling up under the kotatsu, Souji tucked his injured hand under his cheek as he let his self-pity wash over him.
I hate Christmas. I wish it would disappear forever.
