Unmasking Aare Kurunmi, TYF, and the Dubious Push for State Creation

The past week has been very interesting, to say the least. Fake people were unmasked; traitors removed their veils, exposing their true selves, albeit with trickery. The “Yoruba Nationalist” Movement on X-Twitter, styled as the “Yoruba Conservative Movement,” has been growing steadily with new ideas and members. However, problems exist for the movement due to infiltration by liberals posing as conservatives. This issue stems from the movement's non-cohesive and leaderless nature on X, unlike on Facebook, where various groups had different leaders. The current schism is something to celebrate, as pretenders and other undesirables can now be easily identified and exposed, unlike when they were masked and role-playing as conservatives.
To proceed without an introduction would be denying you adequate information, so I’ll start with a brief introduction of the movement. The Yoruba Conservative Movement on X is an extension of the Yoruba Nationalist Movement on Facebook, specifically the one led by Adeyinka Grandson. To say otherwise would be to deny our history, our story, and the one that will define how and why we should undertake the struggle in a certain way.
Adeyinka Grandson, styled as the “Father of Yoruba Nationalism,” initiated the push for the Oduduwa Republic based on the economic and political injustices being perpetrated against the Yoruba people. He has been paying the price for his revolt against the system in the UK since he has always highlighted Britain’s role and condemned them accordingly. Before the 2019 elections, Adeyinka Grandson categorized Yoruba politicians into two distinct groups: those in the PDP as Yoruba liberals based on their history of being anti-Yoruba, and those in the APC as Yoruba conservatives. This move was intended to align the movement with local policies in Yorubaland to effect change through political routes without organized violence, which he has always advocated.
Continuing with a brief explanation, Ilana Oodua, another group that did not support Grandson’s approach, was formed with Prof. Banji Akintoye as their leader. These people from various Oduduwa Republic/Yoruba Nation camps came together; they started their movements based on Grandson’s idea but took a different approach. This other branch of Oduduwa Republic agitators supported various initiatives, from “the UN will get us Oduduwa Republic-Petition to the UN” to “Sunday Igboho’s approach," and later to “No elections in Yorubaland in 2023.” While these initiatives continued, Grandson and the YYF (his organization) maintained their support for Tinubu and their agenda of using Tinubu to achieve a Yoruba regional system of government.
All these initiatives failed woefully, and they all had to eventually follow Grandson’s plan after realizing the absurdity of their plans. The TYF, and Aare Kurunmi (obviously an alias), also stole this idea, justified it with their jargon, and managed to capture the community on X using poorly written arguments, especially due to the growing anti-Yoruba sentiments on X. Grandson could not exploit this as he was still imprisoned by the British after a politically motivated trial and sentence.
Anti-Yoruba sentiments on X have led Young Yoruba to band together into groups, following similar accounts to defend themselves against the growing hostility. X has notably become an anti-Yoruba platform, and the open Yoruba hate, although subtle at times, has radicalized Yoruba youths, leading to a conservative awakening.
However, every movement needs intellectuals. A few frauds managed to quickly organize, establishing themselves as the major mouthpieces and defenders against Obidients and other anti-Yoruba movements on the platform. While the revolution was a positive development, it created many leaderless individuals, posing a significant problem for the movement. Despite TYF and their fraudulent leaders dominating the space as intellectuals—a strategy they borrowed from Grandson’s speeches and campaigns—they didn't control the entire space. Recent opposition against them demonstrated their incomplete capture, although they still managed to control a considerable portion, much like Lucifer the Morning Star.
I'll be analysing their recent dubious push for more state creation rather than the goal of a regional system or Oduduwa republic; well, they're now self-styled "Awoists," as if they truly understand the term. But first I’ll look at the recent push for more states from a conservative/nationalistic standpoint before delving into their bastardization of Awoism.
As Yoruba Conservatives, the movement was founded with the goal of Yoruba liberation and aimed to re-establish the regional system suspended by Aguyi Ironsi and institutionalized by Yakubu Gowon. It's foolish for them to claim Awoism since the conservative and nationalistic ideology was born out of Awoism. Obafemi Awolowo, even after helping Yakubu Gowon during the war, quit because of Gowon's insincere push for regionalism. This raises the question of why people styling themselves as “Awoists” would knowingly support a move that would further fracture the Yoruba, give away more of our resources and earnings, reduce our power, and significantly strengthen our enemies.
The plan to support Tinubu is a move to enable us to drive our agenda for the Oduduwa Republic and not to give more power to the Fulani. To drive our agenda through Tinubu and get Nigeria restructured, giving power back to the Yoruba after decades of being oppressed and subjugated in opposition and assassination of our leaders. For now, it makes no sense for us to be more concerned with giving more power to the Fulani by giving them more states and more federal representatives. By supporting and getting miserly states, we’re selling our future for peanuts. Right now, with the enlightenment of several groups in the North (North central/middle belt peoples) and their opposition to being classified as Northerners, a term for Fulani-subjugated peoples, and the increasing ethnic nationalism and opposition to the Fulani, we can realistically get Nigeria restructured along ethnic lines, but these frauds, even whilst acknowledging this reality, continue promoting their agenda of evil and failure.
To even analyse how it will favour us will be stupidity. Why do we need to get more states when we’re in power? Why do we need more states when Tinubu is in power? If it were a Fulani man in power, would he work against his people? Is Tinubu against restructuring? Can’t we aggressively push our agenda, or are we weak? Are we pressuring Tinubu?
The root of the problem is that we aren’t pressuring Tinubu enough to enforce our agendas. While Grandson was proposing this, he said to pressure these politicians; if not, they’ll just do what they like when they go to Abuja. You don’t vote for someone and hope he does what he promised; you pressure him until he does what you want. Rather, we are just still even supporting Tinubu, while we should be aggressively applying pressure through various means to enable him to implement our agendas. As conservatives, we have no major win in this administration. Don’t talk about appointments because none of us are in this government; none of us are beneficiaries. Instead, we’re being roped into supporting Tinubu again while having gained nothing during his first term. Who does that? Slaves!!!
During the 2023 elections, we supported Tinubu and drove his agenda. In reality, we had an unofficial alliance with APC-Yoruba and their leader, Tinubu, which brought them benefits unlike us. They used our ideas and agendas, tapped into our movements, and our people to win their elections. They won, but what do we get? Nothing. Make no mistake; as I wrote earlier, the appointments are APC-Yoruba people, good for us because they’re Yoruba but of no use to us politically and ideologically because they’re not our people, will not do our will, and neither will pursue our agenda. So, we have no wins, but alias Kurunmi and his TYF goons want to push us into working without a reward. The answer is no. We aren’t slaves who work with no pay and in an alliance, every side has to win for it to continue. Where is our win? What will Tinubu give us? If he doesn't, then to hell with him
Look at the tweet from this baboon; does this make sense at all? With nothing tangible for us as a conservative win, how does this concern us? To put it simply, the 2027 elections don’t concern us at all or in any way.
The push for states will only favour the Fulani, giving them a supermajority in parliament and derailing any attempt for a meaningful change in the constitution that we so require. To achieve great things requires sacrifice; we need to sacrifice the useless desire for states for that great dream that we want. If we succumb to this, only through violence would we be able to achieve our aims but that’s also not dishonourable.Â
For the net gainers, if more states are created, politicians in Abuja, particularly those in the House with no chance of becoming Governors, will now have opportunities to become Governors. Their lackeys will take posts in their respective state houses, leading to a new wave of numerous politicians and a significant waste of public funds. The people will be impoverished, and since we lack resource control, the Fulani and other beneficiaries of this fraud will have more money to fund weddings and goats while our people suffer with no prospects. However, at least the politicians will enjoy their newfound power and resources. That is TYF’s dream for you.
Take a look at the tweet below and decide for yourself if this guy is sensible. Even though he admits the rise in ethnic nationalism in the Middle Belt, he still manages to shoot himself in the foot by tweeting nonsense born out of his desire to keep our people imprisoned in this fraudulent system. If they can push for more states, why can't they push for restructuring? What we want is restructuring and resource control, not the proliferation of states. His argument is also flawed because no one wants a return to a regional government with just three regions. Nigeria should have regions based on ethnic lines: Yoruba region, Hausa-Fulani region, Kanuri region, Igbo region, Efik-Ibibio region, Ijaw region, Bariba region, Nupe region, Tiv region, Jukun region, and others. Each region can then decide to have as many states as they want. This way, each region controls its own destiny, security, economy, education, and more. Who wouldn't want that? The Fulani and the Igbo, of course, but they are now in the minority.Â
"Lets currently use what we have to achieve our aim within Nigeria" is a great line, and we can use Tinubu to get us a regional government. Simple. However, this guy just wants to maintain the status quo. He isn't even a supporter of the Oduduwa Republic.
The flurry of tweets below reveals this guy as an impostor. I don't even need an expose; he's a fraud for not believing in secession. I salute Ilana Omo Oodua, as they've consistently advocated for the Oduduwa Republic, unlike this clown and his useless movement. If he didn't believe in secession, how did his support for Conservative ideology even begin? Claiming to be an Awoist is a scam; Awoists have always focused on achieving a regional system of government in Nigeria, but he clearly doesn't subscribe to that. It's also suspicious that he has no tweets from 2022 and earlier, signalling a Trojan horse in our midst to destroy the movement from within. I want to continue with the expose, but it makes no sense right now until we know who he is because he's neither a Nationalist nor an Awoist.
His push for more state creation instead of a regional system or Oduduwa Republic is a deviation from the core principles of Awoism, which focused on regional autonomy and self-reliance; we’ll talk about that in another article.
To achieve our aims as Conservatives, we must band together because unity is the hallmark of a movement. The conservative movement is under attack by several forces, including APC, TYF, goons, impostors, and others, and it's only going to get worse. Unlike TYF with no plan, I have a grand plan, even though it's still in its conception stage, that will move us from this useless state and make Yoruba a world power. This present political state can only be improved by the grand replacement. Without replacing APC and other politicians in political positions, we cannot achieve our goal of using politics to get restructuring. We are the only ones who want it, and we are the only ones who can implement it. Expecting APC to implement our agenda is a mistake but can be remedied.
Also, forget about 2027; it's not our business. Our focus right now should be maximum pressure on Tinubu through several means to actualize the stages in our plan for regional autonomy and self-government. If we fall in line like dogs, we'll only get bones, not meat. It is imperative that we use what we have to get what we want. We need to be in opposition to Tinubu right now and not the other way around. If he couldn't give us anything now, he will not in his second term. We should be equal partners in a future alliance, not slaves who work without pay. They have their own interests, and so do we. We must actualize our own or come to an agreement with them, not become dogs defending their agendas everywhere. Our loyalty and allegiance are to the Yoruba people and ourselves, not Tinubu and APC, and certainly not alias Kurunmi the fraud.
Even if states were to be created, without resource control, the aim is defeated. So we must aggressively resist those who support and are pushing for new states while they could support restructuring this evil fraud. Please be watchful, and this is a prequel to my space on Saturday. You can join me to talk about alias Kurunmi and conservative ideology here

Repudiating The Article “the Consensus Against Tinubu”
The article starts with information about the imminent emergence of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the next chairman of the APC and that it is one of the political moves by President Buhari to have control of the party and decide who his successor would be. I see this opinion as an irresponsible one from the writer and a move by him to push his own delusion of not wanting the revered Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria. It is worthy to note that the author of the article Emma Aziken, is an Ibo citizen and it is not news that the Ibo have been waging war against Yoruba contenders for the 2023 Presidential elections as a move in furthering their own interests of becoming the President come 2023. The article from the first paragraph reeks of Ibo propaganda against the Yoruba people and an assault on the right of the Yoruba to succeed President Buhari in 2023. Their several political maneuvers have been to rebuke Yoruba for wanting to contest in 2023, paint Yoruba candidates (especially Tinubu) dirty, publish biased and one-sided articles against Yoruba candidates (Tinubu to be precise), and trying to use threats to get our candidates to leave the Presidency for them by saying “it is the south east turn to get the presidency” but they forget that they spend NAIRA which translates as “Never Allow Ibo Rule Again”. Continuing with the repudiation, he writes that Tinubu deserves to be compensated by Buhari for his role in ensuring his victory in 2015 and 2019 but that won’t be the case. He continued that the signs are “ominous” and everywhere but he failed to tell what those signs were. Continued by saying that “to the distress of some political commentators Tinubu has reduced himself, running around in a way not fitting for a kingmaker status of his” – the statement is not only foolish but also a display of gullibility by the Ibo writer. I wouldn’t be surprised if the so-called political commentators are Ibo since that’s what they do and that has been their strategy against us, and seeing that Nigeria is a multi-ethnic state, no ethnic group can win the Presidency alone without allies from other ethnicities. When Buhari was to be President, he enlisted the support of the Yoruba and Tinubu to get our votes but Tinubu is now doing the same and they’re saying that it’s not fitting for him, that’s rubbish of the highest order from the writer and I hope you’re seeing him for who he is (Anti-Yoruba). Does he expect Tinubu to sit in Lagos doing nothing and he’ll miraculously win the election? No, he has to rally around, use all his influence, break grounds and make use of his networks in getting the Hausa-Fulani, the middle belt, the Kanuri people and people of the south south to vote for him, the Ibo are just angry that he’s doing all that and that they stand no chance against him once he’s the flag-bearer of the APC. He wrote further, saying that “the pliable weapon being used against Tinubu appears to be the newly signed electoral act which the Buhari camp seems to have quickly taken as a tool to forge a consensus against his former political benefactor” and continued further by saying that Tinubu’s camp made moves to uproot the consensus in the adoption of party officials by political parties in the electoral bill but that was very wrong because it was Buhari on December refused his assent to the bill, he went further saying that Femi Gbajabiamila caused the deletion- we shouldn’t condone fake news. If Buhari was at war against Tinubu, he would have signed the bill into law but he returned it to the parliament to remove that clause, but we know the writer is an Ibo writer and will try to discredit Tinubu at every turn and try to present illusionable rifts to the public in order to deceive them into believing the Tinubu-Buhari rift were real. The Ibo writer continued further with his ridiculous claims of unverified information on the chairmanship position of the APC and other spews of rubbish information just to fill his Tinubu hate and appeal to his Ibo haters, Yoruba liberals, and other anti-Tinubu
factions. Rather than for him to focus on writing about his fellow Ibo men who are aspiring to be the president come 2023, he’s disparaging the Yoruba people by writing series of articles against the Yoruba and Tinubu. I wonder how the Ibo effortlessly try to meddle in Yoruba politics while you find next to no Yoruba meddling in the Ibo political affairs. Aziken is just another Ibo we should shun because they know that the Ibo can never be president but they’re just trying to prevent the Yoruba from becoming the president by all forms of tricks and gimmicks but they should know that we’ll come for them in 2023 after we have made Tinubu president, dealing with them ruthlessly. The article should have been rightly titled “The Ibo Consensus against Tinubu” so people cannot be deceived into reading their propaganda but trust them to use an headline to signify universal agreement rather than their local Ibo consensus.
