ok whatever you do don't think about tommy coming to pick up buck from a shift, with plans for them to have a lazy day (mostly in bed). he's walking into the station, and he's greeted by members of Shift B who remember him. buck's still getting washed up from their last call, and getting changed. hen & chim are already halfway out of the door, and all buck can hear is chimney excitedly yelling tommy's name, and the three talking happily about something, nothing. buck glances out of the window to see his boyfriend chatting easily with his friends, and he feels... relief. because not once has he had this with his previous partners, there was an awkwardness around abby (due to him still being somewhat buck 1.0) and then he never really merged his other girlfriends into the fam. eddie comes up beside him, putting his hand on the shoulder. "you okay?" and buck grins, it's his tommy grin. "yeah, everything's great." then he walks out to see his boyfriend, who goes all doe-eyed at the tired golden retriever he's dating. soft greetings are exchanged, and buck plants a chaste kiss to tommy's lips, just because. cause he can. cause he wants to. and of course, chimney, eddie and hen are teasing him - but it's different from before. they're happy for him. and it's just BLISS. don't mind me, i'm just HAPPY that buck is HAPPY

A shout out to all the writers out there who don’t make the rec lists or have all the buzz or get all the traffic and attention or kudos. Your work is still valuable and appreciated and loved, and without you and your fics, fandom would be so much poorer.

what's interesting is that 911 has always been an abnormal fan experience in the sense that every main character is endgame paired up almost immediately: bobby and athena go on a date and the end of season 1; by Season 2 they are married. buck and eddie meet in season 2, by Season 4/5, they were supposed to be a Thing. hen/karen were married before the show even aired, Maddie and Chimney meet in season 2. by the end of Season 3, they're pregnant and... in some way it makes me wonder how much borrowed time 9-1-1 was living on at FOX. or, for how long were they aware that they were living on borrowed time, i should say. because the speedrun through pairing their couples up is similar to Netflix's pacing schedule in the sense that Netflix showrunners rarely know if/how their shows are going to survive, so there's a sense of urgency there to tie everything up with a nice bow Just In Case. But it's also like... this fandom has never truly experienced fandom problems. sure we've had racism, infighting, whatever. But we have never truly experienced what it means to be a fan of a procedural. And if you're young, and 9-1-1 is your first major fandom period, you've never experienced it at all. And I'm just thinking about people's response to BuckTommy, thinking about people, like, "okay so buck and eddie have to have a feelings reveal by the end of S7 because it's time!" and it's just like... Well. No. You've just been spoiled by the weight of the executioner's axe against our necks. But that axe is gone now and, for all intents and purposes, 9-11 is a brand new show. Which means... we are about to formally introduced to what it looks like when a show is allowed to slow down its pace and breathe and have Fandom Problems (and yes that includes ship wars. gasp!), and to be frankly honest, I don't think any of you are ready for that.

i'm deeply deeply obsessed with the way tommy can make buck just. melt. like we haven't seen a lot of it and we already know he's smitten as all fuck but those few moments we get where all the tension seeps out of buck and he's just with tommy. they're so special to me. the "i guess it's just me that makes you nervous then" and when buck sees him in the cafe for the first time. the world just kind of fades away and buck is just sitting across from someone he really really fucking likes. and oliver stark i am in your walls.

water-based, oil-based, and silicone-based lube are all suitable for either vaginal or anal sex. many people prefer silicone-based lubricants for anal sex because it's so long-lasting and durable, which is helpful when you're working with an orifice that won't naturally lubricate itself. oil-based lubricants are also a no-go with latex condoms, which is relevant for both vaginal and anal sex. beyond that it's all a matter of personal preference!

anyway why would you want cheating drama when you could have buck drunkenly hanging off eddie's shoulder and rambling about how eddie is his best best friend and he's so glad it's not weird now that he likes guys because eddie is the best and his favorite person in the whole world and he's so warm and so close and eddie turns his head at the wrong moment and his nose bumps buck's cheek and he suddenly has a really horribly timed revelation that he doesn't quite remember the next morning
