I loved today's episode of #roadiesrising They truly showed what exactly is women empowerment and how men can truly contribute instead of just saying 'i support the cause' I especially loved how #nehadhupia didnt have to say anything, the male gangleaders just took the women's views and threw the bastard out. If only there were more men like them in our society and they thrash guys like that mongrel contestant(I forgot his name and I don't wish to remember it as well) our nation would become safe for women and gender neutrality would cease to be just a concept Specially loved how #nikhildsouza reacted to the situation. #princenarula was impulsive as usual and though I love him, I think he tends to be abit immature. #rannvijaysingh though had anger brimming he seemed controlled. But these situations call for actions sir, not subtlety. Rumour has it Roadies is scripted but honestly even if they are, they are sending out a good message atleast

Oh you guys ruined it for me... Why do you have to be right! Aaaaaargh!
It was NOT Sherlock’s birthday
J:  “And if my deduction is right, you’re going to be honest and tell me, ok?”
S:  “Ok, though I should mention […]”
J:  “Happy birthday.”
Tumblr media
S:  “Thank you, John.  That’s… very kind of you.”
J:  “Never knew when your birthday was.”
S:  “Now you do.”
Tumblr media
Sherlock refrained from pointing out John’s deduction was wrong!  A touching “fix” to the original stories.  Like in Doyle, though, Sherlock took an excuse to lengthen John’s visit.  Mycroft will wish Sherlock “happy birthday” in another episode, and John will call Sherlock a cock.

So I was very impressed by this newspapers’ initiative. But something disturbing caught my eye as I went through the comments section of the picture. The top rated comment was that of a woman who argued that the very concept of matrimonial ads should be uprooted and people should just find their partners on their own. She further stated that she didn’t want a guy to marry her for her PhD degree. What was more surprising to me was there were so many gals in agreement with her. I hold, however, a very different point of view and I would like to express my views(read frustration) on this. So this girl doesn’t want someone to marry her for her PhD degree. This same gal will again accuse the society of being stereotypical when they advertise about a female’s looks. What exactly do you want someone to judge you by then exactly? Cause the judging will happen-it’s unavoidable. You have a problem if it’s your outward appearance. You also have an issue if it’s your educational qualification which plays a major role in building your character and intellect aka your inner appearance. Her suggestion that people should just find their life partners on their own and refrain from matrimonial advertisements is not so applicable in real life cause real life ain’t a movie. Specially in today’s global lifestyle, your soulmate could be sitting on a train to Euston sipping coffee while you’re just shoving away your ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ irritably containing his seek out letter in the form of a matrimonial ad. This is the problem with the so-called feminists these days. I don’t think they clearly understand the concept. On one side they are urging people to appreciate their efforts, seeking someone who loves them for who they are. But on the other hand, they say their work is not obligated to anyone’s approval and that their degree should not define them. Excuse me but do you understand what actually defines you then?
As far as seeking your partner on your own goes, love marriages don’t always work. Infact most of the time it’s a deluded decision influenced primarily by the hormones of both parties and we all know we shouldn’t always trust our hormones. Matrimonial Ads are cheap I accept. It’s a petty way to find love. But in India, a country which unites not only two souls but two families, it is undeniably an effective mean.

Devakshi Fanfiction #Ep298 Continuation
The car stops outside Bose house. Sona gets down with Soha following behind. ‘Arre Soha ?Sona?’ Asha says in surprise 'Asha!’ Soha hugs her granny tight and moved on to her Dadu Bijoy whose relief and happiness was beyond evident As Soha walks into the living room holding her Dadu’s hand, Asha turns to Sona with a questioning look. Sona knew she couldn’t hide things from her but neither was she certain she wanted to speak about it then. Sona shook her head and entered the house. Sona had just put Soha to sleep when Asha entered the room. She signalled her to come out. Sona knew she couldn’t avoid the confrontation anymore. She tapped lightly over Soha’s chest to make sure she was asleep and then silently got up. 'Sona kya hua? Tumlog to Waha 7din rehnewale the….To itni jaldi kaise agae ? Sob thik to?’ Asha asks 'Main aur yaha nahi reh sakta…Main tumse door chale jana chahta hu…Main iss sab se door chale jana chahta hu!’ Sona remembered Dev’s angry words and his pained face. He was hurt. Before then, she felt Dev only hurt her but that day she saw the hurt she has been feeling for the last 7years in Dev’s eyes. 'Sona bata na kya hua?’ Asha shook her by the elbow Sona didn’t know what to say. She has forgotten everything that happened earlier, how Dev tormented her, the harsh words he spoke to her. All she remembered then was Dev’s teary eyes, his exasperation, his tormented expression….and it pained her…pained her so much that she couldn’t hold back the tears which had been threatening to spill since Dev left. Asha was shocked to see her strong independent daughter shatter like that. Driven by her maternal instinct she went forward to embrace her little girl 'Sona! Tu ro kyu rahi hai? Sona! Hua Kya hai bata to!’ 'Dev Chala gaya Ma’ Sona sobbed 'Chala gaya? Mane?’ Asha gripped Sonakshi’s shoulder and leaned back to face her 'Dev ne…mujhe Jatin k sath dekha…aur pata nai uske dimag me kya ghusa…Wo soch-sochta hai ki Mai aur Jatin…'Sona couldn’t complete her sentence. It was utterly illogical what Dev thought them to be. Moreso how could Dev think that she could love anyone else but him. Did he not know her at all? 'Tune usse samjhaya?’ Asha nudged 'Haan ma but wo Dev Dixit hai!’ Sona shook her head in frustration'Use apne elawa kisi aur ki baat samajh me ai Hai ajtak?’ Asha asks Sona what was she doing with Jatin and she narrated the entire Khatri episode. 'Sona tu ekbar thande dimag se soch Dev ka gussa kya sach me najayaz tha?’ 'Ma?’ Sonakshi’s narrowed her eyes in surprise 'He is possesive. Wo tujhse pyaar karta Hai aur kabhi bhi tujhe kisi aur k sath nahi dekh paya hai na kabhi dekh paega.Ye to wo pehle bhi kar chuka Hai jab Teri aur Ritwik ki shaadi ho rahi thi’ 'Ha to uske bad vi unko ye samajh me nahi aya ki mai unke elawa kisi aur see pyaar–’ Sonakshi halted as the truth tumbled out of her mouth. 'Kehne ko to 7saal beet gaya hai..par jaha se mai dekh rahi hu tum dono bilkul nahi badle’ Asha sighed Sona looked up helplessly at her mother. 'Aj bhi Dev tumhe kisi aur k sath nahi dekh sakta verna jis beti se wo 1 second k lie bhi door nahi hota use chor k wo AJ chala gaya. Aur tumhe dekho uske jane ka dookh tumhare aankhon see chhalak Aya hai’ Asha said wiping away Sona’s tears. 'Tum dono k zindagi me koi bhi ajai tum humesha ek dusre k sab kuch rahoge…I just hope tum dono ye jald se jald samaj jao taki Soha ko uski complete family miljae’ Asha patted Sona’s head and left. It’s been 2days since Dev left. Sona had been trying to put a brave face in front of everyone but her insides were in a turmoil. Everything reminded her of Dev, every other hour she worried where he was and if he was okay, what if he had been drinking heavily again and was lying on some roadside. No he wouldn’t do that, he wont risk showing his intoxicated side to Soha..He won’t do it right? But he had also promised Soha he would always be with her but where was he now? Every ring of doorbell echoed hope in her heart and she found herself running to the door thinking it was Dev. Soha missed him too.She wasn’t eating properly and kept staring at the open windows of her room, hoping her beloved papa will suddenly show up like he always did. That evening Sona had had enough. She decided Dev can’t come and go in their life as he pleased. He needed to know he has a daughter now and he has some responsibilities towards her. 'Mama ap kaha ja rahe ho?’ Sona asked innocently as she saw her mother get dressed. Sona bent in front of her daughter and caressed her face lightly. 'Mai apke papa ko lane ja rahi hu. Ap papa ko miss kar rahe the na?’ Sona smiled 'Yes mama mai papa ko bahut miss kar rahi hu. Ap bhi to papa ko miss kar rahe ho na?’ Sona’s smile faded as her little daughter exposed her truth. She couldn’t do anything but nod.Just then they both heard doorbell ring. Asha announced she was checking it and so Sona turned to get her bag. 'PAPA!’ Soha’s loud cry stopped Sona in her tracks. She turned to find her daughter storming to the door. When she looked up she saw Dev standing with outstretched arms, ready to catch their daughter. He was wearing a black vest and torn jeans, his stubble has grown and was now a full beard. 'PAPA ap kaha chale gae the? Apko pata Hai maine apko kitna miss kia?’ Soha rebuked 'I am sorry beta. Maine bhi apko bahut miss kia islie to wapis agaya’ 'Par papa ap kyu chale gae the?’ Dev was silent and stealthily glanced at Sona. But Soha was fast to catch that. 'Acha samjhi. Ap aur mama k beech fighting hui na? Islie ap chale gae the na?’ Dev’s eyes grew big in surprise. How can this little kid understand all these things?! 'But papa ye to wrong Hai na…Apko pata Hai mamma apke lie kitni sad thi…Wo apke tarah ghanto tak chupchap window se see karte rehti thi’ Dev looked up at Sona who was still frozen to her spot. He smirked and turned back to Soha,'Suhana ap jao apne bags Leke ao humlog phirse dadi k ghar jaenge’ 'Ok papa’ Soha said and left the room to get her bags. Dev looked at Sonakshi who was looking fixedly at him. 'Dont worry I know tum mujhe miss nahi kar rahi thi. Tum to–’ But Dev couldn’t finish as Sona ran closing the distance between them and wrapped him in her arms. It was now Dev’s turn to freeze. For a moment none of them moved. After a while Dev realized Sonakshi was shaking. 'Sona–’ 'Tumi ekdom impossible! Aisa koi karta hai kya!'She held his collar and landed punches on his chest. Their eyes locked. Dev was surprised to see tears streaming down her cheeks.'Listen Mr.Abhodro is duniya me tum akele nahi ho.’ Dev narrowed his eyes and by this time Sona’s overwhelming emotions have subsided. She left his collar. 'Soha needs you. Aisa kuch phirse kia tobe tomar ekdin ki amar ekdin!’ 'Enough of your tumi-tumi Miss Bose’ 'Thank you.’ Sonakshi said looking down Dev tried to read her face as she tried hiding it. 'Thank you for coming back’ she said and walked away. Dev was dazed and frozen to his spot 'Dev…’ He turned, still reeling in the effect of what just happened between them 'Hum ekbar jeete hain, ekbar marte Hai, shaadi bhi ekbar hoti hai aur pyaar bhi’ Sonakshi said shyly before going out of the room

I Don't Support Feminism
So now that I have your attention let me explain before you faint in shock about how I am not in favor of feminism being a woman myself Let’s take some of the movements it supports:
#FreeTheNipple: Okay so for people who don’t know, this is where the feminists ask why do we have to wear bras when it’s so uncomfortable and suffocating. The main concern for them is they don’t want their nipples/shapeless breasts to be gawked at in public if they ditch their bras because society wants them to be proper all the time. But tell me honestly if a guy rides a subway without his underwear such that his dick outline is conspicuous over his pants, won’t people stare at him too? Infact a girl without a bra would only be stared at whereas a guy like that would probably be deported for indecency. Even a naked toddler will be looked upon with disregard in public. It is not social prejudice against women, it’s social code of conduct and feminists don’t have the license to question that on the grounds of women oppression.
#EqualPay Being a working professional I strongly disagree to this one. I feel pay should be decided on the basis of merit and no other criteria whatsoever. Now this maybe an Indian thing, but I have seen man and woman of same designation sitting side by side, one of them working their ass off while other waited for her nailpolish to dry. In these scenarios should the two deserve equal pay?
#FeminineExemption OK so this is majorly an Indian thing. Indian women are very vocal about how they are always dominated and suppressed, that men have it easier. I dont know but are they forgetting about the unjust liberties they are granted during university admissions, travel, etc. A guy with 92% is rejected to make room for a girl scoring 83%, a man, tired, after a day long of hard work has to let go of his seat in bus for a girl coming back from a mall ….Do these scenarios sound justified?
#DontNeedAMan This is the biggest lie feminists have been telling their followers. Of course you do! Being lonely is the single most destructive feeling in the world and you don’t want that. Needing a man to buy you things or get stuff done for you is not a sign of weakness. It’s rather a sign of being uncooperative and antisocial. A strong woman is not someone who believes I can do this on my own. I don’t need anyone. That’s the sound of an arrogant isolated person. A strong woman is rather the one who thinks ‘yes I can do this on my own but wouldn’t it be fun to let someone else do it for me’
#YourFigureDoesntDefineYou Yes it might not but it definitely outlines you medical report. So if you’re overweight, do something about it. Your lovehandles will bring you diseases you won’t be able to handle in later stage of your life. So hop on that treadmill cause your shape will define your laterlife.
In conclusion I feel feminists are a confused community. Yes female oppression is a black mark in our society but can these really be resolved through movements mentioned above? Feminists can bring about a revolution but they need to choose their battles correctly
