Friendly advice for those with computers or potentially getting a computer: SSDs are worth it.

A SSD is a solid state drive. It serves the same purpose as at HDD or hard disk drive that is found on most computers. The only real difference on a surface level is that a hard drive uses a disk and an SSD doesn't not. The only part you should care about is that a SSD runs a lot faster than a HDD. This means that a computer with a SSD as the primary storage (or the C: drive in many cases) will allow the PC to startup and shut down much faster, access/manage files faster, and last much much longer than a HDD.

If you ever turned a computer and can't do anything because the "Disk" in task manager is at 100%, it's because of the HDD.

You can have both an HDD and an SSD, but Windows (the OS or operating system) will run better on the SSD. The computer will turn on faster. It will shut down faster.

How do I know this? I've seen it twice (technically three times). I put an SSD on my old laptop from around 2015 and reinstalled windows it. The startup and shutdown process mimics a new laptop (the SSD was NOT brand new). This was a laptop that died on me right before my college exams, so it's not my primary PC anymore.

The other more compelling example is I did the same thing to my parents' old 2017(? maybe older) office computer. My parents have complained for years about it running slow. The new SSD I put on it is the first solution that actually brought new life into it.

By the way, you might think a new hard drive would have a similar effect of the new SSD, but a new hard drive is slower than a new or old SSD. It was something I experienced in my current PC while trying to switch to an SSD with larger storage. Windows had always been on my SSD and as soon as I put that OS on the hard drive, it was significantly slower.

A SSD will allow your computer to run well for so much longer. I cannot figure out why the worthwhile investment in a SSD is understated, and I won't shut up about it. Sorry if this was hard to follow. When I'm done with college I'm making an informative comic/info graphic for this.

Hello it's been awhile. I've been taking a break from the interwebs. A lot of my life plans have been changing. The biggest change is I'm graduating this semester and I was able to reduce the amount of classes I'm taking. I've just been trying to relax since I've made that possible. I'm definitely gonna stop taking social media less seriously and just post whatever I want. Which means this account won't be madcom exclusive anymore. I haven't made any art is a long time but I probably won't have time for that until I graduate in May. Idk just a little update :)

Daniel obsessively scrubbing his hands and arms after the first night of torture, having to remind himself over and over again that this is for the best, it’s for his own survival and it’s a righteous thing he’s doing. But the screams and pleading won’t stop repeating in his head, and no matter how hard he scrubs his hands are still stained red. If he’d have stopped ten minutes ago his hands wouldn’t be red at all.

Amnesia TDD demake where it’s third person and fixed camera, there are more puzzles and unique death scenes depending on how you’re caught and what by.

I find it so weird when people see Alexander as like this cold calculated master manipulator who always has a plan and is two steps ahead because I personally don't see Alexander that way at all

Probably because I kinda see myself in Alexander but I see him more as a person who looks like he has a plan but in reality he's a person who's just about holding it together and close to shattering apart. His actions seem calculated and impressively planned from an outside perspective but in reality they are hasty, sloppy and unplanned. It's just that they ended up working out regardless.

Think of for example his servants; mangled reanimated corpses that are barely being held together by leather straps and metal, It's like they were made in a rush. Or his castle, it's first impression being imposing and mighty but literally falling apart at every turn with almost every room caving in on itself. Or how the orb he handled literally broke into pieces because he wasn't patient enough to get himself properly initiated in mithraism even when he was very much aware of that exact vulnerability.

I feel like that throughout the game, Alexander's castle is a visual metaphor of his mental state. The beautiful orchids that bloomed in the morgue. The multitude of archives, all lined with rows upon rows of knowledge and yet empty and abandoned. The castle itself, Intimidating at first glance but weak and crumbling in reality.

I have empathy for Alexander in the way that I relate to him, hearing so many people call me smart and intelligent; on the outside I look like a person who knows a lot when in reality I'm barely holding it together and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. It's just that the results that come of it end up adequate. And the result is the only thing people will see and percieve of you.

The spiral symbols on the door leading into and then decorated around the Hunting Grounds look very similar, not exact, but similar to the symbol Daniel paints on the dude for the 'paint the man, cut the lines,' ritual in the first game. I found that interesting because in Rebirth we learn that the Harvesters actually take in and literally 'harvest' a victims vitae within themselves before putting it in the machine to fill the canisters. At least that's how the scene after Tasi kills Richard appears to read. But in the first game, the 'Harvesters' Alexander created don't do that. They only bring victims to the castle and then he, and later, Daniel, are the ones performing the vitae rituals. Somehow them taking on the role of Harvester while still fully human ('human' for alex) is far creepier than Tasi and co. being forced to take it on. 🥲 Anyways. The symbols painted on acting as a way to channel vitae flow since A and D can't absorb it themselves?
