It’s crazy how we live in a world where you can actually move country and if you have the right combo of drive and luck you can just do that. Thanks to being jewish you’d have to go back quite far to find my ancestors who hadn’t moved country so really I’m carrying on their proud tradition. But you go back far enough and that kind of migration is seemingly unthinkable

I think the one thing that defines my relationship with my step dad (positive) is that when I need to be picked up late at night, he’s the first one I’d call.

Having the option to wfh is great and fantastic but it also means I’m alone in the office every Friday and also no one responds to my emails bc they’re not actually working and if I call they go “let’s talk about this in person on Monday” and I’m like okay maybe it’s not your priority but it is mine.

It’s so weird to talk to nzers about where I’m moving in Australia and they all go “wow the climate there is amazing so sunny and warm” and I moved to nz from Manchester. So I’m honestly finding it hard to imagine a better climate than the one I’m currently experiencing

Girlfriend and I are moving country together at last and my (four) parents have been, separately, quietly trying to give me advice based on their own traumatic experiences of moving country together. And somewhat embarrassingly we were going to make the same mistakes, so their advice has ended up being much needed.
