some of y’all are so embarrassing 😭idk if you’ve ever learned about propaganda in your life but here’s how it works. when a person, country, industry, anything gets painted in a positive light in any form of media, people easily and quickly overlook the harmful things they’ve done. for example, shane dawson, has given redemption arc after redemption arc to problematic youtubers with his documentaries, and we overlooked how shit they actually were because he made them look soo good. he humanized them, that is what people are concerned will happen with My Policeman. When the world’s “Golden boy” whom is loved by most people plays a role where he’s literally a policeman, it will humanize the police and paint them in a positive light. Even if Tom is secretly gay and against the police and the book actually makes cops look bad, people are already starting to overlook shit. Making stupid jokes like “not all cops are bad” and taking a piss out of the movement. THATS the issue. I don’t care that its just a role, and to play dumb and act like the media doesn’t influence our opinions/how we perceive things is embarrassing.

Not only are POCs angry but gay ppl are too. We are tired of the constant stories about gay people that only center around the fact that we are oppressed. Especially written from the lens of a straight woman.

Also black ppl r literally traumatized and yall want us to sit here and clap at the fact that our fave/comfort person is portraying the ppl we fear????? I don’t think Harry ever meant to hurt or disappoint anyone, and im giving him a whole lot of benefit of the doubt I just hope that in the future he’s educated enough to be able to see these issues BEFORE, so that this never happens again.

i know ppl like to argue that he got the script before last summer, but BLM has been a thing that hes supported since 2018 so thats no excuse, police brutality has been going on for a long time and i think he should’ve known better.

p.s - i know anons are gonna come for me which i totally get. being racist/so up harry’s ass you’re blind is embarrassing so i would hide behind the anon feature too😕

EDIT: i would highly recommend that everyone checks out my ‘my policeman’ tag, as well as the replies as there are some very interesting takes on there, so you can better form your opinion. even some different from mine. this is just how I feel, but of course I’m open to hearing opinions different than mine/being more educated and I don’t think there’s right or wrong, i think as long as you keep the focus around real issues and addressing them, everyone is right to some extent.

Hi it’s narcia again 💔 just remaking the post since notes slowed down and my family still needs help covering bills while my mom waits on unemployment/or gets a job, whatever happens first.

(May 13th)

My mom got fired from Amazon in April, and with everyone’s help we managed to pay rent for may, but we need help covering other bills and necessities

We haven’t heard back from unemployment because they’re waiting on Amazon, and knowing Amazon, it’ll either take a while or they’ll lie and my mom will have to repeal it.

And my mom is in the progress of filing for child support- it’s been really slow and difficult thanks to Sophias dad (who is a very bad person and threatens my mom over this bc he doesn’t want to pay anything to help Sophia) and it’ll take a few months at least to kick in now that they’ve done the testing.

I live with my mom and my baby sister (18 months) and we need help covering bills for this month and late bills, and phone bills, and necessities for the household/Sophia (diapers wipes milk etc). Right now we are very late on car payments (owe about 600) and have phone bills due soon (125 about), and we’ll need money for gas to go to the grocery store (an hour away) to get what we need for Sophia and the house because We live in the country with no public transport
