02-26-18 IMMERSION DAY @ CITYHALL Aside from it's our immersion day, this day also the City Mayor Oscar Moreno celebrated his birthday which originally is February 29, 2018 since we only had 28 days in this year's month of February. The morning assembly in the cityhall was quite extra, there were bands, tribal dancers, singers, beatboxers, and some who dedicated their performances to the mayor. After that, we then proceed to our respective offices and departments. This day was a productive day!

EMPTECH TIME! 02-22-18 The task given to us by Sir Francis is about the 21st Century skills and this really helps us to know and apply/develop those skills in real-life. It has a lot of good effects to us especially when it comes to our studies. In our group, I've been tasked to search on the internet those skills and get information from reliable sources. According to what I have researched, there indicates that 21st Century skills are a set of abilities that students need to develop in order to succeed in the information age. The partnership for 21st Century skills lists three types: Learning skills: > Critical Thinking > Creative Thinking > Collaborating > Communicating Literacy skills: > Information Literacy > Media Literacy > Technology Literacy Life skills: > Flexibility > Iniative > Social skills > Productivity > Leadership In our group, we had chosen few skills that could fit to every members of SPACE FLAMINGO and what the members' skills are well-developed among what were stated above. We then categorized a specialized skills to every member according to their position in the group and how they could apply it with their own fields of expertise. After that part 1 of the activity, at the back of our written output we were instructed to search of different web/blogs and creators of it. We should compare and contrast the blogs' features and appearance. With these activity, teamwork should really be present in every ways so that we could attain the groups' goals. Space Flamingo ftw!

Another Great Day of Opportunity! 02-21-18
Today is February 21, 2018 Wednesday but not just an ordinary day in Lourdes College (well thereās never been an ordinary day at LC š), it is because of the opprtunity to acquire knowledge and new lernings for today. In the morning around 9:00 am, the BUSAC-IT and ABM Grade 12 - SHS students gathered together at the Audio-Visual Room to have a forum ACESās of ENTREPRENEURSHIP, with the theme āShared- Breakthrough of Emerging Opportunities & Success among Administrators, Faculty, and Studentsā. The ACESās of ENTREPRENEURSHIP stands for
A-daptability C-onsistency E-xceptional Creativity S-ense of Accountability
These ACES will be discussed further by the four speakers but first the forum would be opened by Dr. Alexander Suan with his opening remarks. There sits at the front the four gentlemen who are the pillars of the BUSAC-IT program who will going to be the speakers of the said forum. Mr. Brian Alcordo, MACC, LPT, first discussed about Adaptability. One advice that he had given how to practice and develop adaptability is that to be open-minded and also maybe take time to travel, to discover other cultures and practices in order for us to widen our knowledge about othersā perspective. Being adaptable to new environments could help us to be a successful entrepreneur so that we could create good relationship to others especially to our possible employees and workmates, to also develop teamwork. Next is the Consistency, it was discussed by Mr. Randy M. Oyao, MIB. What Mr. Oyao explained about being consistent is very important because being consistent is a must-have skill of being an entrepreneur. We have to be committed to every task that weāll be doing in a continuous and proper repetition or in an organized way. In business, change might also be constant but what must never change is your commitment and loyalty to your business. Next up is the must-have Exceptional Creativity of ones aspiring entrepreneur, he/she must have a creative or unique mind to enter the common world of business. Being creative makes the business bloom and no longer common to your market. We were thought about it by Mr. Anthony Ly Dagang, MBA. Last but not the least, Mr. Luis Cadiz, MIT who expanded the Sense of Accountability. He shared his life experiences and inspired us to be mature enough to be hold accountability whatever will happen to your business through your path as an entrepreneur.
See how much knowledge I have gained just only this morning. But thatās not yet the end of acquiring new learnings, the day is just getting started.
In the afternoon around 1:00 pm, SHS students in all strands/tracks were told to proceed at the Auditorium. Itās time to give attention and awareness of our mental health, it is about the Mental Health Awareness forum wuth a theme of āA New Paradigm of Learning: Growth Mindset on Self-Esteemā. The lovely and active speaker is a faculty from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, Mrs. Mercylyn L. Tanog, RGC. Sheās a very good speaker I can tell just in the way she catches the attention of her audiences and giving relevant to the topic. She thought us about the AT or the Automatic Thoughts and how to deal it all. RRR (Record, Rationalize and Replace) is a way to minimize negative thoughts, change our mindset into positive one to achieve healthy mentality. Iāve learned how to widen my mindset and change it to better ones, to be optimistic and have self-esteem. With all of her advices, learnings given to us and inspiring us, Iām so grateful to have attended this kind of event which is an opportunity to me on lots of way.
Today, Iāve taken lots of TAHOVA (Just like what Maam Raagas term it) lots of TAKE HOME VALUES that through my journey in life, I could surely apply.

Today's another day! *drums rolling* It's the Recollection Day for the Grade 12 SHS students! But to start the day, the Block A of the ABM strand started the day with their first subject Empowerment Technology. Sir Francis Albert Calas instructed us to go to our respective groups and to do the given task. The task is all about categorizing topics that have been discussed during the Pre and Mid terms of the school year 2017-2018. We're told to know what are their uses or contributions in making some: > Social Campaign > Web > Research Problem > Blog With that, my group the SPACE FLAMINGO (together with the present members: Tessa, Mec, Edelyn and James) brainstormed our ideas and scanned our notes to do the task. I'm one of those who managed the group (since the group leader, John is not around) and assigned task to each member. I made Edelyn the in-charge of scanning the notes, Tessa to do the writings, Mec in the grammar and James in analyzing the topics to be categorized. Some of the topics are: > Introduction to ICT > Web > ICT Trends > Online Security, Safety and Ethics > Internet threats > Protecting Reputations Crime, etc. It will all be put into the paper 1 (1 whole) and has to be color blue. After the first period, we then proceed to the auditorium to have our orientation by Sir Clent before the recollection proper in the afternoon. It is about the Paschal Mystery which is the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Sir Clent reminded us the true value and practice of a sacrament since nowadays, we somewhat misunderstood it. Around 1:30 in the afternoon, there goes Rev. Fr. Jobel Gulisao, SSJV who will be instructing is the recollection. What has Father said was inspiring and got me so many realizations. Father talked about Forgiveness, Compassionate, Faith, etc. These all will guide me through my journey in life and the decisions I would make after being a SHS student. This day is no ordinary day, the week just started and it's worthy to keep going into life. All of what happened today and will happen on the next coming days of my life is an opportunity to change one's life, to walk the right path towards God, to make the world a better place.
