We are a psychedelic music collective and as such are interested in atmosphere, form and euphony.

Our long awaited news announcement
This is appearing on our tumblr page because it's just going to be too long for a Facebook "status" and we didn't want to have to abridge what we have to say just because the man says so.
So first on the cards is our new album, Earstapa which is today being mastered over at Eighth Nerve. This is very exciting, and we know we've been taunting you all with snippets and chat saying that it's been ready or almost ready - as of today it will genuinely be ready for ears other than our own to hear.
We have also come to a final agreement on the packaging/artwork idea, all provided by the very talented, very lovely Bob Rafferty of Svëltundtôyt art design. We'll post pictures of what it's going to look like once we've got them made up which, with a bit of luck, will hopefully be by the end of next week. We're so happy with how it's come together and we will proudly be putting the album on sale at the beginning of October for download only (if you're a bit tight on the old cash/have given in to the digital age that has eradicated everything in the physical world) or CD copies which will be lovingly be put together by hand and is the infinitely superior deal. More info on that to come.
You'd be a totally acceptable human being to expect a wee (or big) tour to support the release of this album on which we've spent literally hundreds of hours, and we were wetting ourselves to satisfy this. However recent events have caused a massive problem for us in the form of Wil getting a 9 month contract for work in France starting almost immediately. Naturally this is a big opportunity (for money) and were the situation slightly different (concerning money) perhaps he would be in a position to turn thus down. But things being the way the are (concerning money), this just isn't an option.
So what does this mean for Analogue of the Sun? Well, as we've said we're still going to release the album, but as for gigs – they're going to be pretty few and far between for a wee while. It's very frustrating to have to put everything on hold once again for such a long time, and especially frustrating since we had a number of exciting prospects for the coming months. A potential support slot with I Like Trains, support for the fantastic Nately's Whore's Kid Sister, playing gigs anywhere and everywhere we could and performing all the new material we've been working on – but we can't really choose our moments so we're just going to have to power through it.
With any luck we'll arrange something for December, but in the meantime, thank you for your continued support and patience.
We promise, you haven't heard the last from us.

Set list for 16/05/2012
Thank you to everyone who came along tonight - there were plenty more of you than expected! Apologies for initial sound problems, but all in all we think it was a pretty big success for (embarrassingly) our first gig of the year. Massive thanks to Half a Dead Bird for traipsing over from Edinburgh and blasting a stellar set to end the night. They were spot on. Cheers also to Yiorgos for organising the gig. Here's the setlist for those who like to know.
Next gig is 23rd of June supporting the mighty *shels.

Synth recording is happening in 54 minutes and is only a drive to Greenock away. We also had a very successful meeting concerning the packaging, artwork and promotion of the album.
Maybe it's the great way things are shaping up, or maybe it's this awesome documentary I just watched (of which everyone should a copy, I might add), but spirits could not be higher in Analogue camp right now.

Drum Tracking
Today we are going Elba's West end studio to record some drums. We will take a packed dinner, some Irn Bru and possibly a couple of Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodles to be safe.
It's an 8 hour shift, but hopefully we'll manage to get everything done in the percussion dept within that time.
More updates on our album's progress as and when…
In the meantime:
