                 annie seems to melt into johanna’s side with her hands in her hair, so she doesn’t take them away. she’ll let herself sound annoyed & carry herself brusquely, but SHE STILL HAS IT IN HER to brush her fingers through a friend’s hair when they obviously need comfort. she doesn’t hold her back, & despite their FIGURATIVE closeness, their LITERAL closeness right now does set johanna a bit off. but she can deal. she can tamper her STUPID CONTROL ISSUES.

                                     ❝ MMHMMM.... ❞        She doesn’t think the question needs any more than that laconic answer. It doesn’t even merit a full and articulate word.                   SHE HASN’T MOVED    since the speck of CRIMSON had appeared on the palm of her hand. The speck has grown, and there’s now a small pool of the stuff coagulating in the middle of a pale, yellow-pink expanse. She shouldn’t be this frozen, but her problems, her difficulty with BLOOD that had featured in the months after her Games, had resurfaced in the wake of her captivity. A side-effect of TRAUMA.              ❝ No, no, I’m -------------- ❞

                 she cracks an eye open at the woman’s voice, relaxed for a rare, odd moment, really -–– UNTIL annie crashes on top of her. johanna groans, but still a hand goes to her friend’s hair & she runs her fingers through the tresses.

                THE SENSATION OF     physical comfort does wonders for her anxiety, merely the kind touch ( even when paired with the gruff voice ) helps her release some of the tension in her muscles. Of course, that means she’ll only burrow that much deeper into her friend’s side.                 ❝ Nothin’. I’m just tired. ❞

                     There’s a soft   murmur of apology as she pushes herself back up to her feet, like a fawn just learning to walk. There are moments when her muscles betray her and her limbs give way to the FORCE of GRAVITY and she’s left sprawled out on the floor. Less frequent now, but she silently berates her body for its inability to remain upright.      ❝ I can’t ----- my legs are….  ❞         TIRED, she had meant to say tired, but the word doesn’t quite make it out into the open air.

BUT ANYWAY, this blog is, has, and will continue to completely exceed my expectations. i am humbled and crippled with gratitude every single day when i log on and watch you all. whether we write together or not, i see you and i experience the roller coaster that is navigating tumblr on a day to day basis with you all by my side. i’m honored that you share your talent with me, and for those of you who i am privileged to speak to with any frequency  –  i’m so beyond grateful that you choose to share your opinions and stupid memes and painful headcanons with me, and allow me to share a few of my own in return. i’ve had this blog for well over a year now, and i’ve been on tumblr for over three, and i’m constantly astounded by the kindness that i’m shown. this is a seriously small list of people that i’ve collected who are near and dear to my heart. no one is left out intentionally, these are just blogs that i’ve spoken to, wrote with, and have genuinely just come to adore over time, whether it be days, weeks, months or years. i love you all and i appreciate that you’ve chosen to follow me and allow my shenanigans to wreak havoc on your dashes. you’ll never know quite how much you mean to me, but hopefully you’ll remember that i adore you.

     At the angle she offers, head dips, lips brushing the tip of her nose      before his own crinkles at her words. A naive question, no doubt, but      he found her innocence humbling. Quiet for a moment, he debates      with himself for an answer before finally speaking with a shrug.

          “Yeah, a few people have. But this is the first                time it’s actually mattered. Thank you.”

                  Her head tilts,  brows raised in skeptical amusement.       ❝ The first time, huh? Well, you’re welcome…  Right, okay, I’m hungry. ❞        And as if to EMPHASIZE that fact, her stomach starts thundering, which only causes her cheeks to redden. Sighing, she pushes away, grabbing his hand as she exits his arms and tugging him along.       ❝ Are you? I’ll make you something. ❞

     Warm laughter spills out from widely grinning lips, sound muffled in dark      tangles at her crown. Larger arms find purchase at slender shoulders,      keeping her trapped close against him.

          “What’s wrong with that, huh?”

                 She wriggles a little,   not to get away but to feign some sort of resistance. She cranes her neck, resting her chin in such a way as to stare up at him.       ❝ Nothing, I guess. ❞          She stares at him for a bit, the shadow of a smirk playing at the corner of her lips.          ❝ Has anyone ever told you that you’re really good looking? I especially like your SMILE. ❞
