the overall point is good but there are things here being framed as literacy that are not literacy. Emotional regulation is not literacy, vocab is not literacy, reading and interpreting what’s around you (unless you mean literally reading) is not literacy.

These are all important and they’re language skills but not all language skills are literacy. You can articulate your thoughts and explain a situation to a caseworker without literacy.

Language is a precursor skill to literacy; literacy is not a precursor skill to language.
