honestly it is so beautiful and ineffably sad if the roy siblings never really speak to each other again i see them as each other’s prison and the horror is that to continue living you have to cease knowing the only other people in the world who knew what it was like to be you but they never knew actually

yes succession is dead but i do think the s1 finale crash is one of the most beautifully constructed and poignant constellations of scenes in the whole series and i love jokes and i love killing nuance but i could go on about the changes made from the original script they released to what is in the episode and how the narrative of it is reconstructed by logan and colin and kendall himself and so we go on to integrate that info and believe it…the past isn’t real….etc ….

But for Roman, the thought of a young, helpless Logan, a frightened boy, breaks something inside him.

like many others season 2 of succession is my favorite, but I do think that season 1 has a claustrophobia to it that is so special and such a signature, both in the structure of the story (as someone else said recently, the whole story is told by 1.10) and in the physical space. we spend a lot more time inside in season 1

i do think it's unreasonable to expect every single character in a giant ensemble to get a worthwhile send-off but i do think "oh gerri is ####competent ###neverwrong" and so keeps her job is disappointing and i really do resent how so much of her plot turned into being wrt roman honestly
#like don't even get me started on marcia even though ik hiam abbass asked to be written off a bit#the time she was there felt a bit flat compared to how arresting and complicated marcia was in earlier seasons#particularly s2

I mean… it’s not uninteresting. — Fantastic. Great. So listen, there’s a part two to this. Why don’t we talk this over with Sandy?

You know those lonely, so very real late night/early morning hours Logan used to spend watching bad anchoring on his empire's flagship channel, Roman wants to spend watching GILFs getting a pounding, that's literally his legacy. That's his life's work. And they call him gay lol.

god remember in the spring how on sundays you would watch succession and it would make you feel so so so so bad and then you’d log on to tumblr dot com and the succession tag would be like 90 variations in a row on “hey lads how are we all killing ourselves tonight?” best days of my life i’ve never been more alive

I think one of the things succession did well was that moments that probably were not that significant/didn’t really mean anything or materially change the past cast giant terrifying shadows and shape the present
