I think the thing people aren't acknowledging about WWDITS is that yeah the main characters are all queer. And yet, the only established and long lasting main couple is M/F, regardless of how many jokes are made about them also being queer. im not saying bi/pan m/f rep isnt important, but it is relevant to note. most of the mentions of other characters being queer (besides Guillermo being gay) are basically "promiscuous bisexuality is funny and surprising" when you actually think about them seriously. I actually hated everything with lazlo's dad, ngl. looking back at the entire shitfest of season 6, it feels like everyone gives its "representation" too much credit when defending its shipbaiting. like you understand this was intentional, and it's obvious the intent was never to actually deliver on queer relationships long term, even if it gives us queer characters? like, it's cool that you have queer characters, but are you doing to deliver on what you've been implying regarding them?

we get heartwarming moment after heartwarming moment with Lazlo and Nadja. idk I don't think it's Evil but I think a lot.of us collectively gave it too much credit for how much it actually gave a shit. it's a sitcom, and it made it soo clear, and we're pissed at realizing it.

idk, but looking back, a lot of shipbaiting and jokes reslly feel kind of mean-spirited and mocking. like we know you CAN write meaningful relationships, everything with nandor and Guillermo this season was leading up to the extreme improvement in their relationship and interactions, soooo.

I think people who are pissed really deserve to be bc it really leaves a bad taste in your mouth bc you KNOW. the shipbaiting was deliberate. n we'd rather be funny here than actually deliver on queer relationships and happiness. and it's always been that way, and that isn't EVIL or anything , I guess, and it's fine, but it sucks that I gave it too much credit thinking otherwise because I want happy m/m relationship rep or something lol

feels like a slap in the face to people who just wanted something nice!!! I'm not a shipper, I don't exist in the wwdits Fandom, I'm just a queer fan that was eagerly hoping they'd actually have a payoff for all they were doing!!

I’m not even mad about WWDITS because I’ve long expected a “everything stays the same forever” ending. Did I hope for some things? Sure. But I tried not to have expectations, and I think that worked out for me. As for nandermo, like it might have been nice if it had amounted to more than friends who look at each other with the biggest wettest eyes, but again it just seemed unlikely. And in the grand scope of shows with a popular mlm ship that the creators didn’t intend and don’t want to actually do… well it could have been worse. Some saw the Newhart “ending” as an insult, I saw it as throwing us a bone. I might have preferred a nice juicy turkey leg, but I’ve gotten a boot or two in my ribs before and this wasn’t that and all in all I’ll take it. So idk, I’m not thrilled, I’m not upset, just kinda okay then!

Since Guillermo's only reason for not wanting to be a vampire is because he refused to murder innocent people to survive then I wish Nandor came up with the solution of fighting crime and only sucking the blood of horrible people in the s5 finale instead of turning Guillermo human again.

I haven't seen the series finale yet but here are my observations from refreshing my page every five seconds.

I feel as though the s5 finale was the real finale and the actual series finale was treated as a joke... because it was.

5x10 forgot that it was a silly little mockumentary comedy for an entire episode and we were spoiled with drama, suspense and emotion.

I suppose I was expecting the same from the series finale but it seems as though the writers wrapped up the story they wanted to tell in season 5.

The final season has felt like one giant filler with little direction or substance because the writers were backed in a corner. How do you continue a story that has been concluded? Unfortunately, there is no show anymore once Guillermo becomes a vampire. Since this is the case, I am disappointed that the writers didn't come up with something a little more creative as a loophole for Guillermo to never become a vampire but still continue the show.

Guillermo could have discovered that he was a dhampir and his father, whom left when he was only two, was a vampire. Or he could have became a witch and joined a coven to achieve immortality. Or he could have transformed into an energy vampire when Nandor killed Derek, his sire.

The issue with season 6 is that the writers resolved Guillermo's character arch too soon and I personally feel that the show died when Guillermo chose to "live".

Instead of season 6 exploring a terribly unrealistic storyline of Guillermo becoming a finance guy, undoing his entire character growth by having him kiss his narcissistic human boss's ass and miserably failing at assimilating in the human world..... why not just explore Guillermo being a vampire and the challenges that follows?

I was fine with Guillermo becoming human again in the season 5 finale because I believed that the writers had something clever up their sleeve. Now that I know that this is what we got, I have a different opinion about season 5. I think Guillermo should have remained a vampire because a more satisfying ending would have been Guillermo spending eternity with his chosen family.

totally random, but i love how they were like "oh yes, we have been trying everything under the sun to hide natasia's pregnancy" but like... did they really? because it looks like they tried for like 5 minutes and then just gave up and went like "ok, they're just going to have to ignore it" which i find funnier though.
