I feel like with Carli Lloyd the problem is that she loves to see the team strive and do well but ONLY if she is in the squad or if a little bit of the credit goes to her. And that just won’t happen with this squad. If you asked Lindsey Horan what women athlete she looked up to as a kid depending on the age you probably would have heard her say Carli. When you ask these young players who they watched growing up and who they wanted to be like or who affected them the most as an athlete it was players like Alex Morgan, Sydney leroux, Christen Press, and Tobin Heath. Carli will no longer get praise for having an impact on this squad because they never looked up to her in that way.

She’s actually making a gap between the young players and the fans if you think about it. People like Carli turn fans on players a lot and that can cause players to no longer want to post on social media or no longer interact with fans in fear of being met with unnecessary hate.
