School is back in session so here are some random school things for the muses :)

Carter shrugged. "People are odd sometime, especially when it comes to money. They want an extra quarter or two and have their old baby teeth laying around so they do what they can to cash in." Best explanation he could give. Maybe he should have just told her the truth, it be easier to explain and help her fears. Dang Parenting is hard. "In some parts of the world they toss their baby teeth on the roof of their house in hopes of getting good luck instead of being visted by the fairy but we don't have to do anything at all."

"What's a tooth fairy?"

"It's a summertime tradition to roast some marshmallows, especially in this family. When I was your age Grandpa Hank would take me, Uncle Connor, and Uncle Niles camping and we're roast all sorta of things over the campfire." Was that Carter getting all sentimental and nostalgic? Being a dad was changing him for the better. "Maybe we'll take you to the cabin sometime too."

Ilia nodded in response, "yes please!" She smiled up at Carter, accepting one of the treats to give it a try. After taking a bite she smiled more, "I like it!" She told him after swallowing what was in her mouth.

"I'm just not used to this sorta thing. I never been to anything like this. But I'll let you know." In the mean time they were just taking it all in. It was different that's for sure.

"You ever been to a fair or concert?"

It was an outdoor concert at the county fair. "If it's too much let me know and we'll bail," Talia said softly giving the other a gentle squeeze on the shoulder.

"It's some band from a couple towns over, I don't remember the name, but figured it could be fun to check out."

"As kids loose baby teeth it's tradition to put the tooth under a pillow while the kid sleeps and a fairy will come collect the tooth in exchange for money, usually about 25¢ or so. But you don't need to worry about that, the tooth fairy only comes if you want her to"

"What's a tooth fairy?"

"You wanna try some smores there il'?" Carter asks. They have all they need for a good smore after all what was a bonfire without rossted marshmallows and smores?

🔥 Ilia and the whole Anderson family. It's a family trip to the beach and ends with a bonfire!

Ilia's just watching the flames crackle with wonder. It's a nice way to spend the night after a day at the beach. "It's so pretty..."

🎶 - Talia takes taylor to a concert

It's a lot for them to take in, they never been to a concert or anything like it. There's a lot of people and noise. They aren't sure they like it, it's just so much. But they have to admit its exciting and fun too. "What band is this again?"

Water Balloon attack from above! Talia tied a balloon to Carlisle to drop on Taylor since it was so hot out.

Taylor giggles and screams then they take action and jump to their feet. Oh it was on. They had to get some water balloons to get Talia back. A water fight was the best way to cool off, everyone knew that. Plus now that they were soaked, it was only fair that Talia gets soaked too!

Yesterday was Connor and Carter's birthdays!

// We just had a bad flood and with no warning. Thankfully it was just the basement but it's still so bad for us. Lost our washer and dryer and hot water heater and sentimental holiday decorations. Our pump failed. It happened in just 5 minutes too. We checked, dry. Checked 5 minutes later and it was up to the second step from the bottom. We got it under control and the pump started working and it stopped raining. But still have to check every five or ten minutes because the pump pit fills up and we have to go in manually because the auto pump doesn't come on. The intersection by our house was so flooded it was over the hoods of some trucks, and roofs of cars. Thankfully our car was right out front so it didn't get affected the difference a few feet makes. But our poor neighbors had waves crashing into their front porches and I'm sure first floors especially since we are on a hill and they are more even and level with everything. The one house is an unsecured construction site being renovated. If our basement flooded so quick and bad on the hill with closed walls and windows while we were home to stop it I can't imagine how to open basement in front of the main ponding was. And we aren't even near any creeks. I can't imagine people in our city by the creeks they had to have had it the wrose. Oh and? The weather apps said it wasn't even raining and the flood alert didn't come until AFTER the flood. Wtf.
