#this is my favourite way of explaining it#i really hate the spoon anology but spell slots make more sense#like fluffing up my hair and pouring some water is a cantrip u can always do this#but washing my hair and cooking breakfast? spell slot#plus you can change the tasks aloted to your spell slots per day#sometimes washing my hair is level three but drying it is level one#sometimes washing it is level one but drying it is level ten and im not that advanced#it just helps put it into persepctuve for me#its more nuanced than spoon theory

As much as I want to support ethical farming practices I will be buying the cheapest bag of frozen chicken thighs as much as the next frugal/poor person which is why animal welfare needs to be legislated, not left up to the invisible hand of the free market or some bullshit. Invisible hand of the free market finds itself around a lot of throats.
#genuinely baffled about where yall live that local free range and wepl tended meat is more expensive than big farm grocery store meat??#like...theres markets everywhere here theres literally a whole group that tracks them across the province#but even in ontario the grocery stores carried local meat from reputable farms that was comparable in price to the generic imported stuff??#is op american? like is it an american thing#or maybe just a big city thing???#im so confused by this#are you buying it like pre frozen or something?#we have the ability to go out of our way to find farms locally if we have to if the markets dont run or the store doesnt get a shipment#but what kind of grocery stores are you shopping at that local well raised animals are more expensive?#like i know the meat industry in canada is still awful and ive gotten lucky to be able to always have access to local eggs one way or anothe#but the meat thing just confuses me do american stores not buy from local farms?#do you just not have local farms?#are your local farms just equally as bad as big generic farms???#i get it like i really do but im also just so confused that good meat would be more expensive when ive never seen that myself
