Welcome to Andrettiville, the racing capitol for all things bearing the surname "Andretti". Posts consist of everything from the Andretti Green Era to the Andretti Autosport Era. Andrettiville is run by Mikayla and she is (unfortunately!) not affiliated with any of the Andrettis in any way.

Watching “Midnight In Paris” for the first time. I started off mainly just watching it cause I wanted a movie with Owen Wilson in it, but then BOOM the opening credits roll and surprise!Adrien Fucking Brody is in it too, apparently as Salvador Dali. Um…YES PLEASE.

So I’m housesitting for a friend of mine who’s on vacation, and he has two extremely friendly dogs. This is what I woke up to this morning. Not gonna lie: I’m feeling a little like Will Graham, only without the encephalitis.

So at the Milwaukee IndyFest this weekend alongside all the usual IndyCar support races (Indy Lights, Pro Mazda). There will be a Rickshaw race. Sweet.

"Andretti Analysis" Review #1-Post Race Review ~ Firestone 550 Race Summary: The Firestone 550 Indycar race kicked off in Fort Worth, Texas this past weekend, with the second place Marco Andretti taking the lead in the first lap from polesitter Will Power. Marco was tied with three time Firestone 550 winner Helio Castroneves in the point standings after a last weekend's Dual In Detroit at the Belle Isle Speedway. Marco's lead was secured upon the engine failure of British driver Pippa Mann during Lap 3, which brought out the race's first caution. While Mann's car expelled smoke and fire from its back end, she was not injured. Andretti continued to lead for the next 53 laps, before pitting and turning the lead back over to polesitter Will Power. However, Power led for only a brief three laps before he was overtaken by Andretti Autosport driver Ryan Hunter-Reay. Hunter-Reay had earlier complained about vibrations in his car, but the issue was resolved in a pit stop. Separated from second place driver Helio Castroneves by 0.72 seconds, Hunter-Reay led the field until Lap 92. However, the second caution of the race came during Hunter-Reay's reign, this time caused by veteran New Zealand driver and Indianapolis 500 winner Scott Dixon. The Iceman's car stalled while in the pits, and created an oil line explosion that sent several crew members to the infield care center with burns. Dixon was later black flagged for driveline problems. On Lap 92, Marco passed Ryan Hunter-Reay for the lead, which he maintained for 3 laps before falling victim to the #3 car of Helio Castroneves. Towards the end of the race, Oriel Servia's car spun, bringing out the third and final caution. Once the race was returned to green, Castroneves led the rest of the way and became a four time winner of the Firestone 500. Andretti Autosport Action: Ultimately, all four members of the Andretti Autosport team would finish in the Top 10 (Ryan in 2nd, Marco in 5th, Hinch in 9th, and E.J. in 10th). Ryan drove in the top 10 for most of the race, and ended up finishing a tremendous second place. If my memory serves me correctly, E.J. also ran at the forefront of the field for the majority of the race and generally had a decent car. The Mayor of Hinchtown finished tenth, but was frustrated with how loose he said his car was. Despite being strong in the beginning of the race and lapping apparently everyone, Marco struggled after the sun went down and became uncharacteristically fiery over his radio as he complained about Swiss racer Simona De Silvestro not letting him by despite the fact that she was lapped traffic. Andretti Curse Of The Race: The Andretti luck wasn't running amiss in this race, as no one crashed and the team finished in the top ten, but I believe Marco's strategist made some bad calls that cost his driver the race. As for actual "Andretti cursing", Marco Andretti dropped the f-bomb in the heat of his late-race frustration, an act that was subsequently broadcast live and apologized for by the commentators. What I Thought About The Race: Though Helio can be a bit pompous in my opinion, I think he's generally an alright guy and I congratulate him for becoming a four time Firestone 550 winner. Naturally, I always want Marco or anyone from Andretti Autosport to win. I was happy to see that Marco was strong in the beginning of the race and stayed in top ten for the majority of the running despite his late-race problems. I was satisfied that all the Autosport boys finished in the top ten even though I know that Marco, and Michael for that matter, both set high standards for themselves (or in Michael's case, his team). I think Marco had made peace with how he finished by the time he did his post-race interview, and is probably ready to move on in preparations for the Milwaukee Indyfest. And knowing Michael and all his years of racing heartbreak, I believe he knows how and when to count his blessings, and having four drivers finish in the top ten may not be the cherry on the top of the sundae, but it's certainly the surrounding ice cream. Andretti "Act Of The Race": MARCO'S HAND. HOW I'VE MISSED THAT HAND. Firestone "What The Fuck?!" Moment Of The Race: In a post- race interview, journalist Jamie Little was apparently hoping for some after the race controversy, as she attempted to plant the seeds of an unfriendly powwow between Marco Andretti, whom she was interviewing, and the winner, Helio Castroneves, with whom Andretti was previously tied in the points standings. Ms. Little failed, however, as Marco clearly didn't want any sort of bad emotions between he and Castroneves. I understand that spectators like action-filled races, I myself certainly do, but that's never grounds to try and start a fight. Race Results: Pos. Driver Laps Running / Reason Out 1 Helio Castroneves 228 Running 2 Ryan Hunter-Reay 228 Running 3 Tony Kanaan 228 Running 4 Ed Carpenter 228 Running 5 Marco Andretti 228 Running 6 Dario Franchitti 227 Running 7 Will Power 227 Running 8 Josef Newgarden 227 Running 9 James Hinchcliffe 227 Running 10 E.J.
