“Dog Inside a Car” by Fell Runner
https://fellrunner.bandcamp.com/track/dog-inside-a-car
Tumblr media
Fell Runner is a Los Angeles-based rock band formed in 2012 by four music students at the California Institute of the Arts. The band originally started as an independent study in applying West African rhythms to western song forms.
Fell Runner's music is asymmetrically rhythmic while simultaneously melodic and danceable with layers of vocal harmonies and interlocking guitar parts. A band consisting of diverse musicians (current/previous members of HAIM, Harriet, The Americans), Fell Runner brings a wide range of influences to its music placing emphasis on energetic live shows.
In the past three years, the band has been actively performing in Los Angeles and on the West Coast at venues ranging from intimate house shows to notable venues such as The Troubadour, The Echo, The Bootleg Theater, Colombia City Theater, and The New Parrish.  Fell Runner released their self-titled debut CD on Los Angeles-based label, Orenda Records, on August 18th.

Hot Track Alert: February 14th, 2020 | Valentine’s Day Edition
“Polygraph” by Cotton Ships
https://cottonships.bandcamp.com/track/polygraph
“Cotton Ships’ music is a heterogeneous blend of math rock, post rock, indie, folk and jazz. The project is a mosaic of personality, a smattering together of different, often divergent interests and perspectives. It’s fitting then that the band, who’s members include an astro-biologist, architect, tech CEO and stenographer, conjure a sound that’s difficult to lump into any one category.” Listen to their latest single “Polygraph” here.

“Near” by (Sandy) Alex G
(Sandy) Alex G’s latest release “House of Sugar” has already garnered enormous praise from music critics. “Near” is an intriguing and unsettling song that sums up the feeling on the album. It’s been two years since I deeply listened to an Alex G song and this track swept me back into that world.

“Static” by Eyeshadow
Eyeshadow is an electro-pop and house duo from Los Angeles - their succinct,  minimalistic and eclectic EP Auto exudes elegance and grace while it commands with power and confidence. I stumbled upon their music during a show that they opened for True Blue at El Cid and was drawn to the lead singer’s powerful and entrancing falsetto.
