((hello everyone! here’s a brief update from karlaland

today, i’m off work, but i have quite a lot of homework to do, and it’s all due this week! so no replies or threads will be coming today until i have at least a decent chunk of it completed. 

i’m currently working on an essay for my mythology class about neon genesis evangelion, which is my all-time favorite anime, so... that’s fun. i couldn’t have picked a more complex topic to write about though, haha.

i also have studying to do for ASL, as well as several assignments in statistics class. hopefully i’ll be able to knock a good chunk of all this out, if not completely finish it all! though that’s a bit of a tall order for one day... ahaha.

“..h-how long have you been trapped here?”

“Oh my god! I’m getting you help immediately!”

“Yeah, yeah. I’m just here to rescue you because it’s the nice thing to do. Whatever.”

“You saved me!”

“My savior!”

“Good, we’re out of that place.”

“It’s me, your knight in shining armor.”

“I don’t want to be rescued”

“Let me die!”

“Thank you.. for helping me.”

“If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be here right now.”

“Don’t worry, we’re safe now.”

“Here, let me untie you.”

“Not a word about this. This disguise was the only way I could get in here and get you out safely.”

“You saved me from that _!”

“My hero~!”

“I’m here to save the day!”

“Yeah, yeah. Let’s just get the hell out of here.”

“Ah, watch out!”

“Look out! A car/truck/bus/etc!” *pushes my muse out the way*

“I can’t believe you got yourself hurt to save me!”

“You took a bullet for me!”

“If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be alive.”

“Stop trying to save me.”

Her eyes narrow at the title of human. “Don’t fucking insult me like that, cretin,” she snarls. “I’d never be so low as to be a human. You won’t find me being one of those useless little shits.”

She has half a mind to jump down from this tree and track this... creature down. “This isn’t my plane either. I’m not supposed to be here, yet here I fuckin’ am. What kind of demon are you supposed to be? Some nightmare wielder or something?”

Most have treated me either with kindness, or with the fear that I was taught I was supposed to have. Strange…”

She couldn’t help but smile at Celestina’s blush. The thought that something as simple as her- admittedly useless, for what they were designed for- breasts would cause such a reaction. Was that how she was supposed to react?

“Hmm.. I’m glad they do not bother you, then. I tried wearing clothes before, but… They actually caused me to be swept far out to sea, tangled in the material. It’s terrifying, really.”

Such a response… was Celestina attracted to her?

“I suppose that is true, though. It would not be an unfamiliar sight, would it?”

“Well, everyone’s different, so I guess that makes sense. I can’t speak for everyone, but I know I don’t want to do any of those things to you. Not unless you wanted something, but I can’t imagine why you’d want me to kill you or take you away or something. It’s just not in me to do something like that, honestly.” She shrugs. Maybe mermaids were different. Who knows? Certainly not her.

“That sounds awful! I wouldn’t make you wear clothes. Again, not unless you wanted to. But... like you said, you wouldn’t need them in the water. I guess they would get pretty heavy.”

She shakes her head at the question. “It wouldn’t be. They just add to a lady’s appeal, at least to me they do. I mean, I’d much rather have them in my--”

NOPE. Not going there. Not even a little bit.

“What I mean is, uh... They’re, uh, nicer...!”

“Who the fuck is this weirdass, and why don’t they come out and face me?”

Sylvia cuts herself off there, not wanting to show her insecurity any further. Instead, she splashes her tail in the water, then gives a bright smile. Best way to take those thoughts away was to grin through them!

Mother taught me that. 

“Oh, right. I… should mention that as my people are very much reliant on our ability to slip through water, we… typically do not wear clothing. I.. I hope it is not disturbing for you. I will admit, I quite like you. I wouldn’t wish for that little thing to concern you.”

“Well, other humans are honestly pretty rude to things they’re not used to. I wouldn’t put much stock in them myself. I mean... heh. I suppose I could go on, but it’s probably boring, so I won’t.”

Her gaze swept down what she could see of her, and she unconsciously bit her lip. She did look very nice. Very nice. Very cute. Very attractive.

What am I supposed to do? I can’t swim...! How is this supposed to continue?

“Oh, uh, no! It’s fine! I don’t mind! I mean, you’ve got boobs, and so do I, so it’s not like I haven’t seen them before, it’s fine!”

Really? ‘You’ve got boobs and so do I?’ That’s what you go with?!

Her hands are so soft… Just as she had hoped. The touch of a human was always so warm, so inviting.. She would happily lay here forever, and let her new friend explore her further, but she knew it could be risky sitting in the sun too terribly long.

“Oh gosh, that did not sound weird at all. Wetness is a natural state of being for me.” She chuckles herself, then closes her eyes, relaxing to the best of her ability.

“I am happy to know that you are not disappointed.. I was scared you might be, if you decided to touch my tail first… It is.. Ah, I don’t know how to describe it, the word is lost on me. Have you ever felt a live fish?”

She lets her hand linger, her fingers almost absentmindedly starting to caress her. Now that she knows what she feels like, she doesn’t want to break away. She feels way too nice...

“I don’t think I have... We weren’t next to any water or anything, so fish weren’t something I saw often. At least, not fresh ones. I would imagine that it would be... slimy, I suppose? Because of being wet? I don’t know, I’m honestly just guessing.”

Should she try and let her hand wander further? No, no, she really shouldn’t, that would probably be too much and way too creepy. She wasn’t creepy.

I bet eventually she’ll ask about the patch, and then everything will be ruined. I guess that’s just life, though.

Pushing the thought out of her mind now. That isn’t a good one to have. But… here comes a blush instead. “No, I haven’t… in fact, ever since everyone found out, nobody’s wanted to come near me like that. But, I mean… uh… I wouldn’t mind… If you’re okay with it, anyway…”

“Sea cucumber… Yes, that’s what it was. Forgive me, it has been… some time since I learned English, and sometimes I forget the word for things. It can be so hard sometimes!” She lowers herself slightly into the water, blowing bubbles of frustration.

I hope my fins don’t scare her away.

She smiles, though, through what would be an old wound, then floats onto her back, swimming as close as she can to the shore without beaching herself. “Here, please. I would hate to offer and not deliver… I’m afraid I you will have to get a little wet, though.”

Celestina lets out another chuckle -- she’s so damn cute, how is she even supposed to cope? -- but her eyes widen as the mermaid drifts toward the shore. Are those... Is she...

Oh. Oh.

Those are...

“I, uh...” Her blush deepens, but she starts moving forward into the water. “That’s fine, I don’t mind getting wet. I mean...! That sounded weird, I’m sorry, oh my god--”

Now would be a very good time to shut up, especially since they’re right there and you can’t accidentally touch them, that would be incredibly rude!

She reaches a hand out and ends up settling it on the mermaid’s shoulder. Oh. Oh, she’s very soft. “This is... exactly what I expected!” Oh, she likes this. She likes this quite a lot. But she can’t be weird about it. How long was too long? She has no idea.

Yeah, that’s right, go have fun with your new friends. See if I care. Haven’t even wondered where I’ve been, have you? Should’ve known you were no fucking different than the rest of them. Stupid humans. No concept of jack shit beyond what’s in front of their dumbass faces.

She sighs, a fireball burning for a brief moment in her palm before she extinguishes it. No, no. Might as well just let her do her thing. She’ll just stay... out of sight.
