Facebook Launches Open Source Programming Language Hack

Facebook introduce a new open source programming language that can be used for designing interactive webpages for HHVM (that is Hip Hop Virtual Machine) and named as HACK. According to Facebook this language integrates well with PHP. It merges cycle of rapid development of PHP with the discipline provided by static typing.

Furthermore, it adds many attributes which are typically found in all programming languages. Over the last year, Facebook is completely migrated from #PHP code base to Hack and it was successful. It was done with both organic adoption and number of homegrown refactoring tools.

Every PHP developer is well-known with day-to-day tasks that can be tricky or unwieldy and some of its errors could not find before runtime. One more problem with PHP was their complex API, though programmers have good grip on its semantics but still spend time looking up for dull method names in documentation. Moreover, dynamically typed languages allow rapid development but do not offer the ability to catch errors early and introspect code quickly.
