Beth's eyes had barely opened before she snapped them shut, wincing under the bright lights beating down on her. This wasn't her apartment, and it sure as hell wasn't the back room of the Paper Porcupine. After a moment, she sat up on the unfamiliar bed, and immediately reached for her head. It was pounding, and not a hangover after a great ladies night pouding either. Like, what she would imagine being hit over the head with a shovel would feel like.
"Ow… hello?" She tried, though her throat was dry. How long had she been out?
Don’t test a mom! I have no doubt that Beth would put a bullet through your head if she thought that was the only option. Come on Beth, use that brain and come up with a solution that will send us all down another rabbit hole.
“I like to be comfortable. And I don’t like to have to worry about having to adjust things if things are too short; I don’t want to feel self conscious, so I like to wear things that make me feel empowered.”
at some point you have to realize that you actually have to read to understand the nuance of anything. we as a society are obsessed with summarization, likely as a result of the speed demanded by capital. from headlines to social media (twitter being especially egregious with the character limit), people take in fragments of knowledge and run with them, twisting their meaning into a kaleidoscope that dilutes the message into nothing. yes, brevity is good, but sometimes the message, even when communicated with utmost brevity, requires a 300 page book. sorry.
