Kids on the internet now a days are literally wild.. like when I was 12 and on the internet, i was lying out my asshole I was telling people about my kids and my wife. I was talking to them about taxes and how I miss my college days.....now 12 year Olds are out here telling their AGE?!?! OR REAL NAME?!??! I was literally fucking Garry that worked at staples and had 2 children for like 4 years...

I think Hal misses the pre-game apartment way more than Dirk does because it was a time where he had a lot more of a functional purpose and felt fulfilled in his existence naturally. He was looking out for drone raids, he was monitoring food intake and how much they need supplies wise, he was operating constantly as a necessary point of Dirk’s survival and felt not only like a crucial function but also rewarded by his work.

And then he had the game, where he became increasingly obviously self aware and also increasingly obviously less useful, so he’s shoehorning himself into Dirk’s (and by proxy his own) interpersonal issues as a means to stay relevant and engaged. And then the game’s over and he has no purpose. He is not the autoresponder, he is not inventory management, he is not a look out, he is not a wingman, he is Hal. Like every person, he is without express purpose.

Survival wasn’t fun, but it was something he was really good at, and was rewarded through his continued relevance. I just think he wants it back a little.
