The dingy, dimly lit service corridor was closed off by caution tape. You ignored it, ducking under in favour of further exploration. Five minutes of walking, and suddenly the lights begin to flicker. You catch sight of Them, just before being plunged into darkness.

Maybe exploring hadnt been such a good idea, after all.

As the Flower Gents harvest …other winged help arrives. Wings of velvet…the same but different join the scene. Tiny buckets are filled and tiny bouquets are lifted up into the inky night. Songs are softly sung…words of heavy baskets, bubbling cauldrons and busy witches fingers. Songs of flower buds, twisted roots and the race against the sun..songs of glass petals and of frailty. Songs of the cold. Songs of thanks.

There’s no denying that an original post is grossly overdue! I’ll admit, something fantastic happened in my personal life that has definitely distracted me from my bug blog, but this rainy, fall day where I’ve gained an extra hour feels like the perfect opportunity to make an attempt at redemption.

For your viewing pleasure are some members of the Arctiinae subfamily of the Erebidae family. These artists formerly known as the Arctiidae used to have hold the level of family but recent genetic data suggests that their better placement within the Erebidae. Either way, tiger and lichen moths sure are cute!
