MUSEUM MONDAY | ARGUS C2

Originally created in 1938 by Argus Inc, this rangefinder camera was the successor to the original Argus C.  The noteworthy difference between the C2 and its predecessor is a gear located between the rangefinder and the lens, meaning changes to the rangefinder knob or the lens focusing will be shown correspondingly and in sync.  The camera has a 50mm f/3.5 Argus Cintar lens and a 1/5 - 1/300 sec. shutter speed range.  This pre-WWII camera was very rigid and boxy, earning it the infamous monicker “The Brick”.
