Just remembered this and I'd love to find the post again.

Someone was talking about how Loki isn't really a fire god. They made a comparison that Loki is "of fire" the way that Bugs Bunny is "of the television."

I don't brush up against Norse mythology at all but I remember really enjoying the thoughts from the post and I'd love to read it again. I recall it also had to do with the 'domiciles' of Norse gods, and the metaphysics of their existence.

Step into the world of fiber and folklore in this enchanting hands-on workshop where we’ll create wool-felted poppets—traditional magical figures used in folk practices for healing, protection, love, and intention-setting. Guided by the sacred art of felting, participants will craft their own poppet from natural wool, learning how these little figures have been used throughout history in European witchcraft and folk magic as vessels for energy and spellwork.

Whether you're crafting a guardian spirit, a symbol of transformation, or a spell-bound companion, this class invites you to blend intuition with tradition in a cozy, creative space. All levels of magical and crafting experience are welcome.

Please Note: Sharp felting needles and other tools will be used during this class. All participants acknowledge they are joining at their own risk, and care will be taken to ensure a safe and mindful crafting experience.

Witch Tip: Getting Started With Planetary Magic

Note: This is, as always, my personal experience of studying astrology and working with the planets for twenty-five years. There's some UPG in there. Your results may vary. My paradigm is based on creating relationships with the planets rather than demanding they obey your commands. This is what I mean by work with: begin the process of forging a relationship.

If you are looking for a place to start with planetary magic, work with the traditional planetary ruler of your Sun, Moon, or Ascendant - whichever of the three feels right.

They are as follows: Aries - Mars, Taurus - Venus, Gemini - Mercury, Cancer - the Moon, Leo - the Sun, Virgo - Mercury, Libra - Venus, Scorpio - Mars, Sagittarius - Jupiter, Capricorn - Saturn, Aquarius - Saturn, and Pisces - Jupiter.

If you are under the age of 30, I would steer you away from working with Saturn to start with and if you are under 25, I would steer you away from Jupiter as well. (as intermediary planets they require a bit of life experience to fully actualize)

The Sun and the Moon can be looked at a bit like parents. Most of the time, they like you and want to support your life and successes. Sometimes they can be bossy or naggy and they definitely will always think they know better than you.

Venus and Mars are like your besties, or sometimes, your siblings. They can be your wingman when you need them and will definitely beat somebody up if they've been bullying you. They may not always agree with you, but most times you can convince them to your side.

Mercury is a capricious bitch. They will play tricks on anyone, including you. They are endlessly convinceable so just be reasonable and you will probably get what you want (though sometimes in a roundabout way).

Jupiter doesn't have an inside voice. Thankfully, they tend to want the best for everybody. That includes people you don't like, though. You may have a problem with moderation if you work with Jupiter too often, some people like it that way.

Saturn is a buzzkill. Some buzzes need to be killed. Working with Saturn too much can lead you straight into depression. But if you need to stop something, get a handle on a situation, or just slow the fuck down, this is your slightly Scary Uncle. Intimidation x10.

Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto don't care because they don't have dominion over our everyday lives. And that's okay, they control the inevitability of change (Uranus), death (Pluto), and the Unknowable (Neptune). They can't be convinced because we cannot control the inevitability of change, death, and the unknowable. They happen to us - all we can do is accept it or (very occasionally) get out of the way.

Here are some examples of things I am willing to read for that you may not have thought of!

Questions regarding writing and characters - Whether it's how to work through a writer's block or interesting traits your characters could have, I'm willing to do readings about your creative works! If your story has important background details, make sure you let me know so I don't recommend giving a gun to your high-fantasy low-tech character! (Unless, of course, that's something you want to explore...)

Questions about entities - I don't mean identification readings (gods know I can't even identify my own shit half the time), I mean you ask me a "who" or "what" question and I pull one of my fantastic decks out that are centered around the idea of depicting the character traits of other entities! These include the Decks of Many Friends and Foes, the Citadel Oracle, and any number of my astrology, plant, animal, and mythology decks!

Questions clarifying other readings - Sure, this requires a lot more background than usual, but I'm always willing to do a reading to add onto someone else's! It's especially helpful if you can share the reading itself with me, but I understand that that's not always feasible through the Tumblr askbox!

Tie-breaker questions - Stuck between several options to quell your boredom? I can throw down some cards and break down that decision paralysis. (I just don't like doing these for big life-changing things.)

Selfshipper questions - Frankly, the sole exception to my "I'm not good at romantic readings" thing (which, side note, I am willing to do nowadays but y'all might not like the answers). I find these easier than any other relationship questions, actually... Just make sure you specify your relation to the fictional other in question (romantic, platonic, familiar, queerplatonic, et cetera) in your query!

General vibe checks - Sometimes you just want a reading but don't have a question. Sometimes you just want something to keep in mind. Sometimes you want to sit on the other side of the tarot table and say "just fuck me up". I rarely pull more than one card for these, but considering every reading on my blog is free, I think that's a good deal.
