Feral!Angor thoughts!!!

The kids would probably get those little talking buttons that you see on TikTok with dogs. For a while Angor wouldn't use them, but started one day with a press of the 'hello' button when Claire came home.

As previously mentioned, Angor will sometimes just... appear in Blinky's library, terrifying the stout troll. But eventually, Blinky becomes less and less phased by these little visits. He'll sometimes chat with Angor, and sit with him as he reads.

Draal, while very wary of Angor as well, he'll also talk to Angor. About his concerns for Jim, his thoughts on his relationship with his father, and general stuff.

NotEnrique will occasionally hang out with Angor in the basement. Mostly when he's super tired.

Can I ask about hcs of Feral!Angor in an AU Ngora exists?

I think she'd be very... uneasy around Angor.

Their reunion would be very strange. At first she'd be very relieved to finally see her older brother once again, after all these centuries, but suffer silent heartbreak upon learning the state of his psyche, which could be expressed through emotional coldness or outright resentment. After all, Angor clearly left the village, her, for nothing.

Now, that’s not to say Angor doesn't recognize Ngora. He does. Depending on the timeline, he'll either assume he's having a nightmare and/or hallucination or he'll just be cautious. He doesn't understand why his sister seems to resent him him, but he tries to be affectionate it via the usual "leaving an animal carcass in your home" method.

If that works somehow, I believe Ngora would try many different potions to at least somewhat restore Angor's mind, regardless of Vendel saying that he has tried all kinds of potions, including the ones she had made. Unfortunately, the potions trolls have made are for physical wounds, whereas Angor's are purely pschological.

Sorry if these aren't 100% accurate the Ngora's character, but I hope these are good headcanons.

Got a sad new headcanon for this :)

Angor wouldn’t quite understand that his child isn’t… a baby anymore, Y’know? He will constantly try to scruff his whelp and carry them around, not understanding why they are not comfortable. It’s more strange, funny, and sad if his offspring is super tall like their dad.

You ask a very good question, my friend >:)

Feral!Angor would immediately assume he’s hallucinating the scent of his long-lost whelp or having a nightmare or it’s another vicious trick from Morgana, so, naturally, violence is his first reaction. So.. uh… it’s probably advisable that they do zoom meetings with their dad for a while. Angor is eventually stable enough for them to be in the same room but still doesn’t fully understand or believe his child is still alive, growling slightly when they come close. Though, after a few ‘conversations’ (basically just the kid asking yes or no questions and Angor nodding or shaking his head) Angor lets down his guard a little.

As the relationship grows, Angor is more happy, dare I say ‘playful’. He would get very sad if they had to leave for extended periods of time, and that’s if he’s finally well-adjusted enough to cope. In the start of his reattachment, he would have panic attacks or manic episodes, not understanding why they left or if someone took them from him again. He wouldn’t eat, drink, or sleep until they’d come back.

Overall, while it would take a while, and I mean a looonnngg while, I think they could work out a proper way of communicating and work out a 96% healthy relationship.

Do y'all ever think about how the longer Angor's soul was separated from himself, the more he lost who he once was? Like, only being able to follow other's orders for centuries, but never be able to act on his own. Their actions became his, and he knew nothing else, not able to separate what was their bidding and what was his own volition.

Compare who he was before to whom he was when first introduced in the show. Those are nearly two different people there. One is caring, going out of his way to lay Morgana's body to rest. The other is willing to drop kick a teenager at the drop of a dime.

Do you guys think about it? Cuz I do.

One of my personal headcanons for the AU (“headcanon” meaning this doesn’t have to apply to everyone’s interpretation of the AU) is that Angor is constantly breaking into the Trollhunters’ homes at night just to make sure they’re not dead— Very tragic in the sense of his backstory and how he got like this, but weirdly hilarious when you are in Angor’s brain like- “Hey I’m here to check up on you- why are you screaming? Anyway—“ And my idea is that Angor has limited speech in concerns to Trollish and even more limited in terms of English, so he can’t even say what he’s doing, and he doesn’t understand why the kids (and Blinky) start screaming when he stands over them as they sleep—

Toby: *yawning* what the..?!

Angor: *just standing there.*

Normal Angor

I feel like Angor’s love language is gift-giving and acts of service, so he’ll always offer to preen his harpy lover’s feathers whenever they might need it, seeing as he’s already bad long-term experience with birds in general.

Onto gift-giving, he’ll always bring shiny objects to his avian lover whenever he can. Gemstones, jewelry, some nice metals, you name it and he’ll bring it.

Angor Rot is a brilliant nest-maker, bringing in the best pelts, furs, and cushions to make a nest for his lover, not mentioning the sick ledge he’d find to set it all up on.

Feral!Angor

Also a good companion for assisting his harpy partner’s preening, with additional licks to boot

While he will absolutely share his small hoard of rings with his lover, many of the objects he gifts them are random shiny things he found when thinking of them, ranging from random jewelry to whole metal plates.

He is definitely a bit saddened that he can’t always be with his harpy lover whenever they need to fly somewhere, so he’ll find anything possible that can always remind him of them in the meantime.

I don’t know if you remember me but I’m the one you commented about the trollhunters swap au with Steve as the trollhunter and the plot hole I fixed thanks to that comment, and also the one who called Angor Rot Rock-Ram (hehehe, ram…)

This is a post both for you because I dunno if you knew about this because I didn’t (I knew like 0 shit about the novels until, like, one hour ago?) and also a post for anyone who wanna knows but I wanna comment on something:

These pages are from the prologue of the novel Angor reborn but I took them from the ToA wiki and HOLY SHIT-

Thanks to those pages I noticed some things:

Angor was a shepherd?! And no, I didn’t expected that to be true

He owned a fucking big boat, that means he was also a traveler, one that traveled a lot, the lots of Morgana’s names he knows are because he had been in a lot of various places

ANGOR ROT LOVES ANIMALS?!?! Certified traumatized cutie pie on the view👀 and actually I don’t remember seeing him interacting with animals through the series, so, we will never know if that’s true, but now I know

Do you remember the dove Angor sacrificed on the flashback of the first season, when we see him obtaining his power? That wasn’t a random dove, that was a pet of him he saw hurt and took care of it, that damn dove was his favorite of all the animals he owned and had it with him even till the end, and only sacrificed it because it was necessary to protect his family😔

Another thing I found incredible is that he finds Morgana in Bulgaria I think? But he passed first through Istanbul and Egypt before finding the actual place? The rock-ram wasn’t any villager, damn rock-ram was a troll of world, but also trolls have really large life-spans, so, I still think he was quite young when he searched for the creepy woman

Now, the true ask part for both canon and Feral

I found out yesterday (actually, this morning but it was 1 am and because of the ToA's wiki in the Angor Reborn's book post) that Angor had a pet dove, which was the same dove he sacrificied to wake Morgana in the first's season flashback, and fuck, he found the dove hurt abd kept it and the rock-ram LOVED that dove, it seems he was something like both a sailor and a shepherd and that dove was his fave animal of all he had

And fuck, he even allucinated at the end of the book with the dove's last coo and covered his ears, he still misses that dove😔

Now, tell me your opinions, I wanna read them

Non AU opinions first

I genuinely believe that Angor hasn’t actually had any pets since (no duh). Whether Morgana allowed it or not is irrelevant, but Angor lost most of any pets he had on the way to get what he wanted from her, I’m certain he won’t risk hurting more.

Angor likely catches himself watching birds in whatever downtime he has. It’s bittersweet to see doves sitting in their nests (mostly bitter).

Feral!Angor thoughts on it

A big part of my Feral!Angor AU is chronic nightmares, nightmares in which that final horrifying coo constantly finds its way into.

In this AU, Angor would likely scribble small doodles of this dove. It’s disturbing to watch the frantic work done by Angor and the panic in his eyes when he percieves that he’s gotten the slightest detail wrong.

Angor is very careful around birds. He’s a full on carnivore but birds are off limits. A little Slice Of Life event I imagine for myself is Claire bringing in an injured bird, and Angor never takes his eyes off it. Even tries to do his eye trick again if he has to go somewhere (he has long forgotten how to do it though.)

That’s all I can think of unfortunately, but I hope these headcanons and opinions suffice :) I’m really glad you like my AU so far💖💖

I'm figuring out Lumi's past life, and low-key wanna know how Feral!Angor (and or normal Angor) would be seeing his mate in distress about something in their life

Normal Angor isn’t much of a comforting guy, I mean- he’s been desensitized to damn near everything and hasn’t had anyone he’s actually considered worth the effort in centuries, so he won’t know how to fully comfort someone. But his method of comforting someone close to him is holding them close and attempting to be reassuring, though it doesn’t work sometimes (S/O: He’s such a dick! Angor: I can kill him-)

Feral!Angor on the other hand…

While Feral!Angor is more emotionally open, he is still unstable. He would cuddle his distressed mate, but isn’t in a state of mind where he can help. His difficulties in communicating already make things hard if either of you are in distress. The most he can do is some light grooming, as most trolls comfort other trolls that way, so hopefully a few reassuring licks will help you calm down.
