Is splash like the merle genes in dogs?

I don't know enough about the merle gene in dogs, like which gene it is, but I don't believe it is, as Splash is actually a lab-created gene, as in they actually manipulated genes to make it, reportedly in the 80's. As far as anyone can tell, it was released to private breeders in the 90's (back when that sort of thing happened when mutations occurred in labs naturally, as well). Unlike in dogs, the spl gene is not associated with any ill health effects; in dogs, the merle gene can be associated with blindness or deafness. It also doesn't suffer the same issues as brindle, which is mainly found in AY mice, and AY mice are generally prone to obesity and fatty tumors.

Where Merle (in mice) develops over time from a solid coat, splash is visible from the time their skin starts to gain pigment as 5 day old pinks. It is ALSO not brindle, which exists in mice too- brindle starts with a deeply striped coat that gets muzzier as they age. And it's not roan, which also ticks out as it ages and has no solid color patches.

A nice splash should be fairly evenly marked over the whole body, with no big clumps of color.

This is a poorly-marked splash:

compared to the first splash lady I posted, you can see the large clumps of color that give it an almost-merle appearance, except that the clumps still have dilution flecking.

With getting a bit more confident and less anxious (to a slight degree, it's unfortunately still a big curse) since being on Testosterone I occasionally think about wanting to try out visiting a queer meet-up or something but unfortunately working full time and not having a car kind of limits most options.

Mh alright let's have a look at my music... It's a bit tricky cause I have a bunch of artists where I only really listen to one or two songs instead of whole albums.

1) IN CASE I DIE: - Will Wood ok it was between this and "In case I make it" but I think I like these versions of most of his songs even more. Definitely a must have.

2) Strange Trails - Lord Huron No questions asks, while I'm listening to pretty much the whole collection of songs this album got me into Lord Huron and is still the one I listen to most

3) Wake Up Calls - Cosmo Sheldrake now HERE is where it got though? Because unfortunately I am utterly enchanted by every single song. I was considering picking Eye to the Ear or Wild Wet World but decided that I'd like Wake Up Calls with me actually. Owl Song my beloved.

4) This Is How We Get Better - The Narcissist Cookbook They've got all my favourite songs on there

5) Amidinine - Tissilawen Been quite enjoying their songs lately and this one is my favourite so we're taking it!

6) Return of the Obra Dinn (Original Game Soundtrack) what can I say it's a banger

7) A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO FAKING YOUR DEATH - jharia also lots of really really good songs. My favourite is on another album (CONTROL BABY) but I think if I have to pick I'm going for this album

Not repeating an artist really fucking hurt me because asking me to pick just one The Mountain Goats album is like picking a favourite child but my picks are:

1) Goths- The Mountain Goats. Cannot deny this album is fucking banger after banger.

2) Martial Arts Weekend- The Extra Glenns because im a little shit that will find loop holes in everything.

3) How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful- Florence + The Machine. One of the first actual physical vinyl albums i ever bought. Still fucking amazing.

4) The Normal Album- Will Wood. Hes got some funk going on. And so will this fucking car.

5) Greatest- Bee Gees. Yes its a cop out but you can pull Jive Talkin’ and Night Fever from my cold dead groovy hands.

6) Goats Head Soup- The Rolling Stones. I will be doing damage to the speakers blasting Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) as loud as possible.

7) Dandy In The Underworld- T.Rex. I just think curly haired people are all on the same wavelength. Literally. Because i fucking Love To Boogie

(Something I've been wanting to do for a while now is writing music for artist's OCs I like and dumping it in their inbox with no warning. Usually I'd put my creative notes under a cut. As it turns out, I can't do that in an ask, which means I will explode your inbox with this, sorry.)

This is a short orchestral piece in D major for violin, cello, double bass, harp, piccolo flutes and synthesizer. The song opens with a fast-paced, plucked melody from the violin. Synthesizer, bass and cello join in with a fluid, wave-like backing. This little, plucked melody - Matthäus' sneaky little rat steps - will carry us through the song.

After one repetition, the melody is picked up by the harp. It is joined by the piccolo flute - matthäus voice - which gives us a very playful overall shape. But oh, what's that? Not one voice, but three, harmonizing with each other!

After the flute has had its time, it joins the other instruments in the background. Our sneaky little sneaker takes a dive into the darkness of the bassline for a few measures. Then, finally, we return to the beginning. After another few measures, the whole ensemble joins the melody.

I hope you enjoy it!

this one took longer to figure out than i expected, but even though i considered going with my man hamid for the letter h, this was pretty fresh in my mind from a millionth relisten, and... i can't resist the prague party.
