Introduction

I made this blog to have a catalogue for Eye Trauma incidents in the media I watch. A bunch of people I know are either squicked out by it or have it as a genuine trigger, and I figured it'd be good to have a dedicated place for people to have a quick and easy to reference guide on what series have it, where it is, how bad it is, other things of that nature. Posts will be tagged as the series, the medium (new posts will be made for different adaptations so as to not over-bloat a singular post), "eye trauma discussion" and "eye trauma timestamps". The posts will not go into overt detail, but will describe if its graphic, on screen or implied, how long it lasts, if its serious or played for comedy, recipient type, things of that nature. If I miss anything, please send me an ask, this is meant to be a resource. My primary focus is going to be anime + manga, video games, and indie comics as those are what I engage with most. Listen, Haven is objectively better if you have the ability to watch an entire season over the course is two days (and the last two seasons are a bit of a disaster)

And trust me, when we watched her evil dad step out and it was Captain Kirk, my eyes (and my mom's) almost popped out of our heads.

William Shatner is, by no means, an amazing actor. But something about the way he played this character (and the end!) just rewired my brain in a way that I was not expecting. Hearkening back to my earliest memories of watching TOS.

2025 & I'm talking about an old sci-fi show. Haven. Before the network became SYFY, & before you needed a subscription to watch it—Syfy would throw out interesting shows but then would change their schedules so you never could finish them. (unless you bought the videos/dvds which idk if they were even a thing back then)

Story: a while ago, i found & started rewatching Haven. its currently free (except for one season) on Amazon.

watching after s3 is like watching someone drag a dead horse. Repetitive, pointless drama never brought up again, favorite characters turned into assholes, and so many plot holes that it might as well be a black hole.....

The fact that there are three man-hoes in Kinnporsche, i.e, Kinn, Porsche, and Vegas yet most of the time its only Vegas being called out for slutting out.

I kind of have a funny story about this. At my last job, there was one work friendship I'm actively keeping up now that I don't work there anymore.

And, for one thing, she's got to be in her 60s at least, and she'd made several references to older TV shows.

Well one day I pop off with one of my standard MASH references (Colonel Flagg) and she laughs and comes back with one of her own. And I find, in this woman decades older than me, a friend who has, in fact, seen all of MASH.

So when I quote "Let's show "The thing that ate the Bronx" I could watch that every day, she knows what the fuck I'm talking about.

every time i meet a new person i enter a fantasy world where they not only have seen all of mash but also blog about it on tumblr and we're already mutuals online and get to live out a beautiful you've got mail type plot line in our friendship. and then they've never heard of mash in their life and i have to move on normally, if not slightly disappointed

Is there a way to end this?

Yeah, actually there is. It's just going to take a long time. Take these experiences with you. Take them into higher positions where you become the bosses of developers and, most importantly, don't do this to people.

Eventually there will come a time where everyone in positions over developers will have grown up with shittification, and have the power to stop it.

For those that don't end up in these positions, give feedback when you really like a UI and tell the company what you personally would really like to see.

Not sure if someone gave you a real answer, but it Does Not work like this everywhere, it is dependent on what state and what town.

Where I'm from the people don't choose the mayor at all, but it's not a politically equivalent position. The governor selects the mayor, who is primarily in charge of the zoning decisions.

As for other kinds of elections such as governor, technically we have a two party system, but no one will choose another party, because no one votes for them, so everyone lies and it actually means nothing.

Obviously I can't speak for other states, but I can assure you this doesn't apply everywhere.

Well and not just the jobs where people die, the entire world becomes a never ending mess when people don't actually know what they're doing. Using examples of my real world experiences from the person who took over my job, who is not remotely competent at anything other than basic tasks,

"This list contains people who were interested four years ago, several have complained about being contacted, and it's completely useless, making recruiting insanely more complicated"

"Hundreds of people are marking our emails as spam, if it continues our emails will be blacklisted, because the list wasn't built right"

"This appointment system doesn't really work, but we drove the person who was designing the new one out of her job, halfway through a changeover and now we're straddling two systems, making things substantially more complicated for students trying to make appointments"

No one is going to die if my replacement endlessly fucks up my job, but also, there's a whole bunch of other people who's jobs have just become a lot harder.

It's like people can't connect the dots between "University students using ChatGPT to do their schoolwork and now they don't know how to do anything" and "there have been a never-ending series of fuckups that are screwing us all over"

I have a funny story about this actually. When I was like twelve, I was at my grandma's house and my mom was the person that would tell the boys to knock it off, but my grandma was the "you have to just ignore them" person.

Well my two brothers and two cousins were just teasing me mercilessly. My mom had gone out that day so when I went in to say something grandma instead she actually had the nerve to tell me that I needed to be the grown up one, despite only one of the four being younger than me.

So I got back outside and they continue to just go at me and eventually I got so mad that I threw a baseball, a baseball not a softball, and the four of them, nailing my older brother dead in the face.

Nice big black eye.

And that ladies and gentlemen, is the reaction they were looking for. And they got it.

Honestly, if you're a kid and an adult tells you "they're just trying to get a reaction out of you :)" as a response to being told that some younger kid is tormenting you, that should count as full permission to punt that little shit. Like I would never hit a child, but if you're seven years old and a five-year-old is being a cunt at you and adults just tell you "oh they just want to find out what happens if they keep doing that", wouldn't only be fair to let them know what happens if they keep doing that?

Siblings should never be left responsible of raising each other, but if adults have decided that they are allowed to fuck around, wouldn't it only be your right - or even downright duty - to let them consequently find out?
