I think one of my favorite reoccurring moments throughout Dimension 20 is when Brennan, outwardly showing the pride he has for his friends’ cleverness and insight, says, “No roll necessary.”

just realized riz never told anyone about his financial issues so when he just showed up to junior year and gave fig and kristen enormous binders with an itemized list of all the things they needed to do to graduate with a certain gpa they just did it bc riz asked them to and literally no other reason at all

Imagine you're at a fan meet up for James Cameron and he's just signing shit as usual. Then one day some people from his submarine trip are like "Jimmy! Paula found Atlantis!" and he just up and runs out of the place like "Holy shit, Atlantis!" and minutes later you see him booking it away from the KGB in America for some reason in a sixty year old trailer.

I feel the need to make sure everyone remembers that when Brennan said "Siobhan, I swear to God, if you do this to me..", Siobhan genuinely said "I'll put it down". And to THAT, Brennan responded "No, no, no, you MUST do it".

Siobhan was literally like "I won't fuck up your campaign if you want" and Brennan was like "No, I absolutely don't want you to do this, but if you CAN, you HAVE TO"

My favourite genre of Mountain Goats lyric is the kind where the animal metaphor snuck in when he wasn’t looking and he’s a little mad about it

I love how varied and universally weird the circumstances for making lifelong friendships are. Here's this guy I accidentally messaged once and I could not imagine my life without them now. Here's this girl I was so scared of when I met her, I would kill for her and remind her to rest on the regular. Here's this other guy we have so much in common we used to joke we were the same person in different timelines. It took us years to meet in person and I attended his wedding. There are also people who entered my life in absolutely unremarkable ways but changed it forever for the better. It's wonderful how easy it is to find people to love.

My hot takes on a first listen to Blurryface: Reborn

**as a side note, the only artist I knew going into this was Bears in Trees like a little, and I am very open to covers, I go absolutely feral for a good cover**

1. Heavydirtysoul--it barely used any of the original song. I almost stopped listening right away. It felt tone deaf to the original vibe of the song.

2. Stressed Out-- inoffensive

3. Ride--got really good toward the end, I loved the Heathens soundbite

4. Tear in My Heart--again, inoffensive, but nothing really new about it.

5. Fairly Local--the instrumental was good, especially the bass line, but the vocalist didn't sound super confident, which really killed the vibe of the song for me.

6. Lane Girl--I remember one of the songs around this point was lacking a bit drum wise in the mix, but I know I overall loved this one. The vocals are more melodic and they straight up fixed the part of the rap that's so hard for me--instead of "no one really wants to think about this" they did "nobody wants to think about this" which is SO MUCH EASIER for some reason 😂

7. The Judge--i loved this one, super simple and sweet, gave fresh life to a song that is actually my least favorite on the original album.

8. Doubt--I give a cautious thumbs up to this, I loved the precision and the little drops and background choruses at the end, but felt like it could have had some extra zhuzh added to the end instead of just repeating.

9. Polarize--i couldn't hear very well, did they change half the lyrics? I was very distracted trying to catch what they were saying.

10. WDBWOTV--i knew without hearing it I would like this one, if I didn't know it was a TOP song, I would believe someone who told me it was a BiT song. They did a lovely job, one of the vocalists even sounds kind of like Tyler.

11. Message Man-- this SLAPPED. SO GOOD.

12. Hometown--nooooo, my son! It felt like a club remix of a lyrically intimate song.

13. Not Today--that was so good! And that metal screen was EVERYTHING.

14. Goner--guitar-based Goner? I'm so here for it, they did an awesome job

Overall 6/10, I'd listen again but it's not everything I hoped.

wild to think that sam was originally intended to be the main character of The West Wing when he doesn’t even crack the top five most interesting characters on the show. tell me more about the press secretary and her very hot, very problematic affair with one of the reporters in the white house press pool! tell me more about the nineteen-year-old orphan working crazy hours for bullshit pay while raising his younger sister and dating the president’s daughter! tell me more about the babygirl deputy chief of staff with survivor’s guilt who causes as many problems as he solves and reads his own RPF on the clock! tell me more about the first lady and the years of insane medical malpractice she’s committed trying to keep her husband’s disability invisible!!

and then sam is like “oughhh noooo i hooked up with someone i didn’t know was a sex worker, whatever shall i do” like oh my god dude can you grow upppppp there’s a raft carrying like seven hundred refugees that’s about to get hit by a hurricane and we gotta secretly orchestrate the assassination of another head of state before lunch

each year congress people should be required to go on a field trip where they each get dumped in the middle of a random u.s. town & handed a phone with google maps & forced to find their way back to washington solely through the use of local public transportation systems.

to be clear i don't think this would improve our political reality in any way, but it would be fun to watch
