So I saw your piece on Intentional Game Design and was wondering, what's your explanation for piglins? Can they sleep? Do they not need to sleep?

My personal head canon is that they have superior regenerative abilities to deal with no sleeping allowed and the lava everywhere.

Also I really like your pieces on Minecraft mechanics viewed as if they were real things.

We become products of what we've grown up upon. It's as if the very soil on which we stand rises up through the soles of our feet and becomes a part of us. The dark loam made your ancestors farmers gave your your strong hands and brow. The wet sand made your family fisherpeople gave you your tan skin and long legs. How we survive is also how we're made beautiful, and made ourselves.

It was the land that made these beings, the ones with wrath as red as fire and skin that withstands the heat of the sun they were born in. They grew up in this land like their fathers and their fathers did, and they learned to create as well as the rest of us in the land that they were given. The land is kind to them because they're meant for it.

In the same way the loam would not provide for the fisher and the sand not for the famer, the nether does not provide for us. We cannot sleep there. We cannot dream.

Does that make it evil? Or just different from what we need?

The nether is hell. But it is only hell for us.

I saw a bit of poetry as a caption to a drawing on this website. What I assumed was the excerpt read "The life I love is only due to a collar forged by my own hand long ago." And I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Wasn't that such a profound concept? I know I'm happy where I am, but I'm only where I am because I have to be. Is there somewhere else I'd be happier, or is it too late for me? Have I condemned myself to a life where I live with the ever-present looming of things that could've been, am I missing nothing at all?

Either way, I'll never know, because I sewed myself into this earth, I trod a path so straight and deep into the cobble that if I stray one foot off it I'll stand in the wilderness that has taken the ground I've never walked.

Is that wilderness beautiful, or are there things out there I'd rather never see?

I'm afraid to lift my head. I can't, lest I leave this life I love. This collar I wear is handmade and carefully, delicately wrought, but it is still a collar, and it is loose.

one time my mutual sent me a fanfic to read from an mcyt fandom i hadn't interacted with and it turned out the entire thing was a word-for-word genuine conversation these guys had and BELIEVE ME i wish that hadn't been an option

i'm a big fan of this math also (i think that that version of ren counts as 100 percent ren and 100 percent Something Entirely Different simultaneously instead of like martren, which was 50 and 50. like how catholics understand the dichotomy of Jesus, which is a horrible way to put it, but i could find no better representation of meaning)

also would like to take this opportunity to submit my claim that Ren has person’d the least throughout the life series cause just including the seasons he was in, 1 Ren in 3rd and last life, 1/9 (0.11) Rens in Secret life (arguable whether we include this or not, but I digress), and 0.94 Rens in Wild Life (7.5/8), which adds up to 4.05 Rens, divide that by 5 to get the average, and we get a perfect 0.81 Rens per life series.

And that’s not even including the time he got possessed and became Something That May or May Not Have Been Ren.
