What position does your character sleep in? ( i.e; stomach, side, back, etc. ) Describe why they do this — optional.

Thanatos usually sleeps on his back with his arms crossed atop of his chest. There's no special reason for him to do this other than being used to it

Does your character have any noteworthy features? Freckles? Dimples? A scar somewhere unusual? etc.

There are glowing marks upon Thanatos' face and an insignia on his forehead. The origin of it however is a secret that he still has to reveal

Does your character have an accent? What does it sound like?

Thanatos does not have any form of accent

Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly?

Nope, Thanatos has no issues uttering his thoughts and there is no word he difficulties to pronounce

What are their chief tension areas? 

His shoulders. If they are due to his augmentic arms or if its but mere coincedence is a mystery to Thanatos

If you were to pick one song — and only one song — to describe your character, what would it be and why?

How does your character perceive themselves? Positive? Negative? Neutral?

He is quite neutral about himself. He doesn't think too highly of himself despite him mostlikely being one of the most powerful owners of the Nekros frame there are. 

Are they a quick thinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts?

It really depends on the situation. If, for example, he is in a fight and needs to think quickly and rational, because there is no time to go through his plan beforehand, he surely won't take half of an hour thinking for a solution but much rather summon a squad of fallen shadows and kill whatever stands in his way

If however he is given time to think, sort his thoughts and go through them again, he won't shun to do so either. 

Does your character dream or are their nights filled with an empty blackness? Describe a dream they’ve had or a night they couldn’t sleep and what they did to preoccupy their time.

Thanatos doesn't quite dream or sleep, for his body merely falls into a trance, one so strong that no power of this universe would be able to wake him from it. What he see's though is the same everytime: A great pool of golden energy, forming into the one real that he calls the grand Aetherius, the same place that he sends all souls of brave warriors to, once they have died. 

If they had a choice, would they prefer a subway or a bus for public transportation?

 Neither, he'd walk. He is not all too fond of crowds, prefering his silence and peace most of the time. Long walks also help him relax. 

What do they think of creation? Do they believe in evolution or do they believe in God? What is their religion like?

Thanatos believes in a god, one that however is merely a watcher of the world rather than the one who made it and the rest of the universe, observing those that die only to eventually take them to Aetherius, a heavenly city of peace for all those that have died

Describe 5 unusual characteristics your muse has.

All of his limbs are augmentations

He can play various instruments, ranging from a flute, to Pianos, guitars and so on. He learned a lot from his parents and brother in his childhood.

Thanatos is an excellent writer, despite his blindness. Many of the books in his library are actually written by him, and while most of them are merely re-written by him in order to preserve what knowledge was stored within it's pages, the Nekros has started an own little series of books too, containing several stories of his life, of his long dead brothers, and other people that he knew long ago.

Thanatos actually teaches the soul arts to those that are willing to learn them. Often only young tenno, new to using a Nekros frame, come to him in order to understand their powers better, however, everyone can learn them to a certain extend. Some use them to bond with partners better and understand them, others use them for battle. What they use these limited powers for is of no concern, but it should be chosen wisely. 

Thanatos is capable of hearing the voices of those who have been touched by the infestation, their tormented screams of help often plaguing him for days and weeks.

Have they ever been so overwhelmed they had to stop and take a break from something? 

Thanatos was on the verge of giving up on mastering the soul arts several times in his life, simply because they would have nearly killed him every so often. 

Are they a team player or do they prefer to be solo?

Thanatos prefers to be alone during missions since no one tends to interrupt his concentration this way.

Can they multi-task or must they focus on one subject at a time?

Thanatos can muli-task, but he doesn't really need to most of the time.

What are their best school subjects? What are their worst? List five of each.

He was a formidable student as he still actively learned and therefore he was pretty much good at everything, except for shooting however, since he never really was a fan of guns and the like. 

Is your character an introvert or an extrovert? How do they handle big crowds of people?

Thanatos is an introvert most definitely. He can't handle crowds too well, and tends to avoid large gatherings of people. 

Are they a leader, do they prefer to follow, or would they rather just stay on the sidelines altogether?

All in all he'd stay on the sidelines. Thanatos doesn't fit into a leading position, especially now in his quite advanced age. He prefers doing things his way and doesn't play well with others alltogether. 

If your character was suddenly challenged, would they rather run away or stay and fight?

Thanatos would fight, no matter what. His honor doesn't allow him to back off and run away

If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would that person be and why?

The Stalker, for murdering his wife, daughter and brother, as well as taking his eyesight.

Your character has been granted 3 wishes; what would they wish for and why?

To have the conflicts that plague this universe end for once and forever

To be able to say goodbye to his family, how much he loves them, all that.

For Naomi to live a long and happy life, even if he's not there anymore.

Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone?

It takes time to gain his trust, especially since he has been through a lot in his life and has troubles trusting strangers easily.

Do they prefer romance or affection? What is the quickest way to your character’s heart?

He prefers affection nowadays, for quite obvious reasons. And there is no quick way into his heart, lots of talking are required to make him like you

Does your character have any enemies? If so, who and why?

Yes, the Stalker, for he has murdered his entire family.

Do they have any weird bedroom habits? Any unusual kinks?

I'll just ignore this question and go over to the next one...

How does your character prepare for bed? Do they sleep at all or can they stay awake for days on end without trouble?

Thanatos usually just reads a book before he goes to sleep.

If your character had one thing to say to their parents before they died, what would it be?

''Thank you for everything, thank you for making my childhood such a beautiful time, thank you for raising me into a righteous and strong adult, who can face every challenge that will encounter him. Thank you for accepting and loving the woman I've married just as much as I did. And lastly, thank you, for being there for me and Zoran all your life.''

Are they afraid of death? Do they have any regrets?

Being surrounded by death everyday, and even being the one to guide the souls of the deceased over to the grand Aetherius, Thanatos does not fear death itself. However..he fears what will happen when he is not there anymore, and that he might not be able to prevent it

And yes, Thanatos does have regrets. He regrets that he could not prevent the death of his family and get revenge, and that he might never see Naomi's and Cael's child with his own eyes, but in other than that he is satisfied with his life

Does your character get restless when things are too quiet or do they favour solitude and silence? Why?

He enjoys solitude and silence, mostly because it allows him to relax. 

Finally; if your character was forced to eat one thing for the rest of their life, what would they choose and why?

Thanatos doesn't really care about food, so if he had to choose mostlikely cupcakes from Nova-chan or so. 

Though..if you take his aged wines from him he might get angry

Minor muse update

|| So, I've decided to tweak my lovely little Nekros a bit since I had some time to rethink some things today at work. Feel free to read the details under the cut

First off, Thanatos age is altered from approximately 500 years to about 950. I just felt like this change was neccessary after finding out that Corpus (just like Tenno I presume) have quite the extended life spans. I would like to set it even higher, but since I have no real idea how old a master of death itself actually can become, I'll leave it there until new changes occur.

Secondly, thanks to a certain Corgi Thanatos now has a direwolf as his pet which bears the same facial markings that Thana has as well. Other than that however, it's a great grey wolf that seemingly has an interest in swords.. (who gets that reference gets a cupcake)

Most importantly, I shall be working on a proper about page soon (I might need help with what to put onto it since I've never really done one of these. Ideas are more than welcome ^^;

Anyhow, thatt's about all for now. Thanks for the read c:

''What would I have done?''

The elderly Tenno repeated after Alex, only for Thanatos to close his eyes the same second that these words would leave his lips, such question seemingly causing the Nekros to think before he could actually give an concrete answer. What would he have done in a situation like the one Alex had been in back then? What would the wise elder have done after witnessing apparently 'good' and righteous Tenno turn corrupt, violent and undeniably evil in the very second that they would reach their wards in a place that was meant to cure those who could not do so themselves, for their mind was either considered too powerful to control by any means or too weak so that not even the poor soul itself was able to control it? 

A silent growl left the soul manipulating Nekros, obviously being a sign of his anger, which only became more visible due to Thanatos suit flickering up in the hues of his energy, a bright golden tone that usually would only adorn his frame when his powers actually were in use, not however when he wasnt even attending a burial or a ritual to guide the deceased to where there souls would go in their afterlife, may it be the great Aetherius to which the pure ones were send, a realm most akin to what people would call 'Heaven' or simply be banished to the void to have their souls be reborn so that they can try anew. 

A mere few seconds passed before Thanatos broke his silence, his slender frame returning to it's natual color scheme, the slightly clenched fists of the Necromancer too calming in the process. Truly..it was against everything that Thanatos believed in, had taught to his disciples and tried to avoid at every cost, but he too would have chosen the rage deep within his heart and the urge to kill whoever would decide to torture already poor souls even further, than to follow his usual 'Peace before Violence' doctrine. 

''I would have protected those that required my help, just as you did back then, Alex. You acted impulsive and followed your rage, but I can not say that I would have acted differently in such particular situation.''

The Nekros replied., none but a slight hint of anger to be heard within his usually so calm voice. It was quite..rare to actually see Thanatos agitated or angry, most of the time the blind shaman drowned his fury in meditation anyways, but when he was becoming angry, it was for good reasons. The violation of those that are unable to fight for themselves was one of these reasons.

However, Thanatos soon after only heaved a sigh as Alex spoke about another tenno joking about putting Claire into an asylum, and what was done to him. Ah..he had heard of this Tenno, had heard of the high amount of operations that the medical ward had to perform on him and that he still won't be anything else than a potato to say. While..Thanatos not neccessarily would have caused this Tenno to end up like the way he did eventually, he most certainly would not have left him go unpunished. Of course, Thanatos himself and Alex were too quite different kind of people of different times, one following a path of peace, the other having been forced into a role of war, violence and killing; wether he enjoyed it or not was another story.

''Alex, I am no one to judge you for what you did to this tenno, for you had your very own reasons to do what you have, however, your question about what I would have done is one that I dare not answer, for an answer I do not have. You and I are products of different times, different people and different treatments, so I can not answer this inquiry. I apologize.''

(So I Heard You Wanted To Meet Me...Why would you do this to yourself?)

  A deep sigh of relief escaped Alex’s lips as he mimed the action of wiping sweat off his forehead, tension visibly leaving his upper body as the elder Nekros revealed that he wasn’t angry, or even mildly annoyed at the high body count that Alex caused, in spite of the fact that having a lot of other Tenno on that list caused quite a bit of “paperwork” for the Nekros to file as he guided said souls over to whatever awaited them.

"What can I say?" The scarred young man shrugged nonchalantly, "I’m really good at killing. It’s more or less the only thing I’m really good at, but I at least try to pick what I, more or less believe are the right causes, or people, to kill for. And besides, I doubt anyone’s going to weep for the countless number of Grineer and Corpus I’ve turned into red smears on the wall - and in the case of the Infested? Some would call it the gift of mercy."

Much more at ease, Alex slid his chair back slightly and shifted his legs underneath the table, lifting them to rest on the seat of an unoccupied chair across from his.

"Now as for those Tenno? I’m sure Naomi’s told you some of what happened in the Asylum she was once imprisoned in, right? Seeing as each and every one of those Tenno were engaging in a systematic cover-up involving the numerous abuses of their wards, including sexual ones, I honestly can’t say I apologize, nor do I feel remorse for killing every single one I came across. I don’t think the clean-up crew that came after I left had much mercy either."

He never did figure out who took over what he started. Ah well.

"Thanatos, even if Naomi wasn’t involved…if you had seen what I had seen…what would you have done? After that, I’ve always been a little jumpy whenever someone mentions asylums or jokes about the looney bin. Someone made a quip about sticking Claire in an asylum because she lived on a Derelict for a while…I kind of lost it."

Alex took a deep breath before continuing, relating what things he had done to other Tenno, regardless of whether or not they really deserved it.

"They had to reconstruct his entire face, replace both of his eyes with cybernetics and generate an entire new set of teeth for him after what I did, and they still say he may never wake up. What would you have done, if you were me?"

||Headcanon time

While Thanatos is taking his time in battles most of the time, once his archwing is deployed he becomes very swift and nimble with it. Of course, since he doesnt like using guns, he prefers his Veritux over the Imperator

Just don't give him one because he'll crash almost everytime
