despite everything, denki still counted himself lucky. he wasn’t as hurt as some of his classmates, but he still had been more hurt than most. it definitely could have been deadly, so he’s just glad he made it out on the other side. still, he has to stay in bed, recovering from his injuries. thick bandages wrap around his head, but he’s still trying to be his usual chipper self. 

‘ tenya ! ‘ he reaches his hands out immediately, holding them out for iida to hold. he’s happy to see that he wasn’t hurt. 

‘ eh, i’m doing alright, considering the circumstances. you still think i’m cute with all these bandages ? ‘ 

Tenya immediately grasps onto Kaminari’s hands and takes a seat at the edge of the bed. He smiles again at the other boy’s question, eyes softening with affection for the blond. 

“Of course. You are always cute,” he says, releasing one of Denki’s hands to gently touch Kaminari’s face. His hand falls back to his lap, his smile slowly disappearing. “How do you feel outside of your injuries...?”

He knows he won’t be forgetting the battle any time soon, watching his comrades getting hurt, the massive amount of destruction that had happened. He knows they lost a lot of good heroes out there, some they knew personally.

Tenya considered himself lucky that he came out of the battle relatively unscathed. He had a few bumps and bruises but nothing that required any dire medical attention. The same could not be said about some of his classmates. 

As much as he would’ve liked to say he was equally worried about all of his friends and classmates, that was not the case. When they gathered at the hospital to await the fate of their injured friends, his eyes immediately looked for a particular head of blond hair. 

Upon catching site of the other boy, his shoulders relaxed minutely and he exhaled a soft sigh. “Denki-kun...!” he exclaimed softly and made his way to his side, a small weary smile on his face. “I’m glad to see you well.”

         Iida? He hadn’t expected to run into any of his classmates, however he wasn’t complaining. He liked Iida, he was a good friend and great company. He always seemed to have everything together and Shouto kind of envied that. He felt like he was a mess inside despite his demeanor. 

        “I came out here to get away from the house for a bit.” He replied. “You’re out running?” He took note of the breathlessness from the other, so that was his best guess. “Would you… like to sit down?” He scooted a bit more to the left, giving the other more room to sit if he so wanted to. 

         “The breaks are nice and everything but I… sometimes wish they weren’t so long.” 

Tenya wouldn’t normally interrupt his run to chat with his friend, but he hadn’t seen him since the break started and frankly, he missed him. He gives the other a nod before he removes his water bottle from it’s location strapped to his thigh and takes the offered seat. 

He was aware Todoroki’s home life was complicated so he worried about his friend. He couldn’t relate himself. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going back to his room and all his belongings that he couldn’t bring with him to the dorms.

“Did something happen at home? Are you not getting along with your siblings?”
