So baffling

What is up with Olitz fans wanting the show to return?  I keep seeing this on social media and I don’t get it because how can they seriously think Olitz wouldn’t be messed with hard and even possibly Fitz be killed off?  

This is one show I don’t ever want to return because I just don’t see this couple not being messed over.

Where's Lovecraft Country's Season 2 Renewal? HBO Boss Offers Update

Season 1 of HBO’s Lovecraft Country was a critical hit and is proving to be an awards-circuit favorite. But so far, word of a Season 2 renewal is as elusive as a universe-hopping Hippolyta.

So when TVLine recently chatted with Casey Bloys, chief content officer at HBO and HBO Max, we asked him why the premium cabler hadn’t yet renewed the sci-fi drama.

Showrunner Misha Green “and her writers are currently, as we speak, trying to figure out what Season 2 would look like,” Bloys said. “Remember, Season 1 was based on a book, so you’ve got a roadmap. And especially for a show that is this big, to have that mythology and that roadmap is really, really helpful.”

The show’s Season 1 finale aired in October 2020. Lovecraft Country is up for Best Television Series — Drama at the 2021 Golden Globes. TVLine also named the series — whose ensemble includes Jonathan Majors, Jurnee Smollett and Aunjanue Ellis — as one of the 10 best dramas of 2020.

“So we, and Misha, want to be really sure that there’s a story she feels good about that we feel good about,” Bloys continued. “I am very hopeful that she’ll crack a story.”

Season 2 being teased

Going by what Misha Green and one of the writers tweeted, it’s hard to not think season 2 is coming. 

If not, pretty messed up of them to be teasing it like they are when they see fans are desperate to know if we’re getting a season 2.

Such a messed up & sad father & daughter relationship

Because Abbey Lee also had chemistry with Tony Goldwyn, wish we could have gotten more scenes between Christina and her dad Samuel.

Doesn’t make much sense

For HBO to not announce if Lovecraft Country has been renewed or cancelled yet because with HBO now reaching even more people because it’s now on Roku, the show is being seen by more and more people and going by sites like Twitter & Tumblr, most are loving the show, so if they announce it’s cancelled, you’re going to have even more folks loudly saying WTF???

I’m praying that the reason it’s taking so long to announce if it’s renewed or not is because of negotiations or something because them taking this long with such a high profile, buzzy and important show is weird.

Importance of Chemistry

The successful pairing of Ruby and Christina really shows if the chemistry is there in spades, you can overcome the obvious serious issues that is hovering over a couple.

I just came from another thread that discusses “Couples that made no sense”.   And if we’re being honest these 2 fit the bill because realistically no way should Ruby been anywhere near Christina once it was revealed she was William. But because these 2 actresses had such insane batshit intense chemistry, alot of us wanted them to still be in each other’s orbits.

So I just think this pairing is an obvious example that highlights how important chemistry is when doing a toxic couple. Without the great chemistry they would have hurt the show instead of help make it even more interesting to watch. We just got so many layers from it.

Ruby sticking with Leti

I don’t get those that think that Ruby wouldn’t at least try to come through for her sister.

Going into the season finale Ruby was getting mostly shredded on social media and even now some still think badly of her character.  Type in coon and Ruby on Twitter and see the tweets. 

So didn’t it seem like a given that the writers would try to redeem Ruby?
